Bill Berkowitz: Global warming skeptics plot new strategies to combat 'climate alarmists'

A BUZZFLASH GUEST CONTRIBUTION
by Bill Berkowitz

Kert Davies, a campaigner for Greenpeace, called it "the largest convergence of the lost tribe of skeptics ever seen on the face of the earth." Frank O'Donnell, head of Clean Air Watch, told The Washington Post's Juliet Eilperin that the conference "looks like the climate equivalent of Custer's last stand." The League of Conservation Voters' Gene Karpinski, said he was "sure that the flat Earth society had a few final meetings before they broke up."

Check off Wyoming and Mississippi. Now what? -- Chad

Mississippi is in the books -- Barack Obama handily winning the state. Though Obama only will gain 3 more delegates than Hillary Clinton for the night. But that is 33 fewer delegates to fight over.

Early Morning Jokes for March 12 -- Tony Peyser

From 1994-1997, I drew daily cartoons for Laugh Lines, the L.A. Times' humor page. I also wrote topical jokes every day. New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer was forced to resign because of a prostitution scandal. One can only hope that the outraged GOP lawmakers demanding his ouster included hooker habitué David Vitter and bathroom stall stalwart Larry Craig.

That's an important distinction and one that differs from past reports that used the terms "Saddam dead-enders," which segued to the term, "Insurgents" and has now morphed into the ubiquitous, all-inclusive designation, "Al Qaeda in Iraq."

Remembering Unity, and the Ongoing Saga of Hillary Clinton

A BUZZFLASH NEWS ANALYSIS
by Christine Bowman

About the unity we crave, and the disunity Hillary Clinton sows.

Where was HRC* in 2004? Did she miss that unforgettable Democratic Convention moment when Barack Obama reminded Americans that we could be united? We could be patriotic. We could go forward as one America. We could make this world a better place. Here's the video clip, and a short excerpt:
