THE BUZZFLASH WINGS OF JUSTICE AWARD http://wingsofjustice.com/08/06/woj08023.html
BuzzFlash is certainly never short of words when it comes to criticizing the corporate mainstream media. The decision of the New England Emmys' Chapter to give Bill O'Reilly a special honor at its annual gala on May 10 is further proof of how far adrift broadcast "news" has become from basic standards of decency and excellence.
But Barry Nolan, a television host on Comcast in Boston, proved that there are exceptions to every rule. Nolan took it upon himself to protest the award to O'Reilly, going so far as to distribute pamphlets at the event protesting the Governor's Award going to the chattering nabob of "The Factor."

BE ELECTED by Christine Bowman "A lot of people are asking, 'What does Hillary want?'" Clinton told supporters at a rally in New York. "I want what I have always fought for: I want the nearly 18 million people who voted for me to be respected and heard." -- Senator Hillary Clinton, June 3, 2008 www.washingtonpost.com...
Possibly, those people asking what Hillary wants have been asking the wrong question. What if we ask instead, "What do Hillary's supporters want?" Obviously, many find it hard to stop wanting her as the next President of the United States. But if they come to grips with not getting that, then what? photo from here About 20,000 people gathered together in a hockey arena, had to go through Secret Service requirements to get in, wait around for some time, and then watch a 30-minute political speech. And there was about 15,000 people who watched on giant screens from outside the arena.
This is not a typical political experience.
Could you imagine Michael Dukakis, Bob Dole, George H.W. Bush, or Walter Mondale stirring this kind of enthusiasm and crowd?
The traditionally non-political element of our society, a rather large group, given the percentages of people who go out and vote, are joining in a process in part because they are excited about a candidate for president of the United States. And that candidate is Barack Obama.

Subject: Obama Declares Victory on Republican Turf I've seen a lot of brilliant political moves in my time but what Barack Obama did tonight was incredibly impressive. Not only did he give a visionary and inspirational speech but he did it in the very same hall where the Republican convention is going to be held. Now when the Republicans have their convention at the same location the news media is going to compare and contrast it with Obama's speech tonight. Obama has stolen McCain's thunder at his future convention. As a Hillary supporter I have to say that Obama is off to a great start. Maybe he does have what it takes to win. Subject: Let Obama breathe, please Buzz: On the day when it appears that Barack Obama will become the Democratic nominee for president, is it possible for him (and his supporters) to enjoy this for just one or two days without being asked/told to consider Hillary Clinton as his running mate? The Clintons have implied that Obama is everything except a child of God, but she's sending out surrogates to float the idea that she wants to be on the ticket. Why would she want to be on a ticket with someone who she swears is unelectable? My hope is that Obama and his close supporters will advise him to take time in choosing a vice presidential running mate. Meanwhile, will someone ask Hillary to NOT rain on his parade today or tomorrow ??? Please Hillary ... the Clinton family has had 8 years, give Obama a few minutes to enjoy this historic time? It's kind of bizarre reading about supposed "feminists" who are reportedly claiming they'll vote for McCain rather than Obama, now that "their" candidate, Hillary Clinton, is out of the running for the presidential nomination. First of all, John McCain is clearly the candidate of the anti-abortion crowd, but that's not the half of it. He's also the candidate who says Antonin Scalia, John Roberts and Sam Alito are his kind of judges. We're talking here about guys (yeah, guys) who think a woman's place is in the home, and who only recently ruled that if she's discriminated against on the job, and doesn't learn about it for a decade or more, a woman can't do anything about it, because the original offense of underpaying her happened more than 180 days ago. McCain is also the guy who, after his wife suffered a serious car crash and became disabled, dumped her for a younger, richer woman. A feminist's dream, this guy. The fired U.S. attorney scandal likely claimed a victim in the race to succeed retiring Sen. Pete Domenici. Heather Wilson, a player in the scandal along with Domenici, lost her bid to be the Republican nominee, losing to Rep. Steve Pearce by about 3,000 votes.
Pearce will face Rep. Tom Udall (D) in November; Udall currently leads in the polls.
Wilson gave up her seat to run for the Senate so come January, she will be looking for a job. Technorati Tags: Be-Elected U.S. attorneys Heather Wilson Pete Domenici

It was supposed to be over last night with Barack Obama having won enough pledged delegates and super-delegates to make him the Democratic Party's presumptive nominee. But then Hillary Clinton took to the floor In NYC to address supporters in what many assumed would be a concession speech. Technorati Tags: Ann Davidow Senator Clinton Obama's speech

MS. SMITH GOES TO WASHINGTON BuzzFlash, Just judging from how many wrong steps Bush has been able to take . . . the worst America can offer to the world, and without accountability, seems to be in vogue. But, most Americans know that this Bush GOP government (30 years of it) has in no way ever represented this country, democracy, or the American people . . . so why would anyone in Congress, who cared about their job, support such a criminal and treasonous regime, and why do they still, no matter what Bush does?
