Hillary Clinton's Powerful Lack of Conviction

THE FIFTH COLUMNIST by P.M. Carpenter

"She has learned how to be ruthless."

Thus spoke Robert Reich of Hillary Clinton, and I don't think he meant it in a complimentary way -- the way, for instance, in which friends and colleagues of Robert Kennedy spoke of him as being ruthless.

When applied to RFK, the term carried with it a cert

Ohio AG Marc Dann (Democratic) Confesses To Affair -- Verse-Case Scenario by Tony Peyser

The main thing here that made me chuckle and laugh
Was admitting he had a fling with someone on his staff

And (you know his p.r. guys here got awfully frantic)
Dann then insisted that this relationship was "romantic."

OK, I see -- he wasn't merely trying to get a gal in bed;
There were hearts & flowery things that needed to be said.

Dann's having a wife & kids quite simply smothers any way

Michael Winship: White Houses, Right Whales and Moby Dick Cheney

A BUZZFLASH GUEST CONTRIBUTION
by Michael Winship

As the candidates engage in an ultimately pointless, fruitless debate over whether or not to give the gasoline tax a summer holiday, the Office of Vice President Dick Cheney secretly has been developing a quaintly 19th century solution to the energy crisis.

Whaling.

At least, that's one possible conclusion you might draw from last week's report out of Congressman Henry Waxman's (D-CA) House Oversight and Government Reform Committee.

According to documents leaked to and released by the committee, for more than a year Cheney's office and the White House Council of Economic Advisors, coordinating with the White House Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs, have been holding up a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) rule that would protect the North American right whale, one of the most endangered animals in the world.

Democrats who despise Obama will have a tough choice in November -- More from Indiana

I spent the weekend wandering Indiana, focusing on the Obama-Clinton matchup. I spoke to a lot of people about their feelings. This one in particular stuck with me. -- Chad

"If Obama gets in, it will be the demise of America."

I met Michelle after the Hillary Clinton rally in South Bend, Indiana on Sunday. She was carrying a yard sign for Hillary, and I decided to strike up a conversation.

I asked the typical question I was asking supporters of either Obama or Clinton: What was the number one reason for supporting your candidate? Michelle talked about health care and how that was important.

Obama base + Clinton base = Democrat in the White House -- More from Indiana

This is for the Barack Obama supporters among our readership. The good news: your candidate is going to be the nominee for the Democratic Party for president of the United States. The bad news: Hillary Clinton has a base that your candidate needs in order to win in November.

Author Cliff Schecter Discusses "The Real McCain" with BuzzFlash.com -- And It ain't a Pretty Picture

Where are the questions about Rick Renzi, whom he got in a fist fight with, but eventually became friends with, who served in McCain's past campaign, and who’s now received a 53-count indictment against him by the FBI? McCain kept Renzi on as a co-chair of his Arizona campaign while running for office, after the guy was being investigated for all manner of misdeeds. Or the questions about Pastor Hagee. But beyond that, he befriended the late Jerry Falwell, who blamed 9/11 on Americans. He blamed it on gays and lesbians and a variety of other groups.

Barbara's Daily BuzzFlash Minute for May 6, 2008

BARBARA'S DAILY BUZZFLASH MINUTE

"The same old Washington politics won't fix our problems. We need honest answers... And a president we can trust." Do you really want 4 more years of "swift-boating", scandal and smear, bogus information and investigation like America's been subjected too for the last 16 years? Do you really want more of the same? Bullying and negativity does not equal tough, it's just mean spirited, psychological mumbo jumbo, constant bickering, and Washington politics as usual!
