Who was it that said, "In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist." ??? Ah yes, I remember it was the last of the last Repuglican Statesmen, Dwight Eisenhower -- he was attempting to warn Americans about how power would make it possible for Repuglicans to funnel all the tax-payers money to Repuglicans! "...the former chief of the Army Field Support Command with responsibility for overseeing KBR's massive contract with the Army, contends he was forced out of his job in 2004 for objecting to the Pentagon's treatment of KBR. 'The interest of a corporation, KBR, not the interests of American soldiers or American taxpayers, seemed to be paramount,'... Smith said, he saw KBR submit more than $1 billion in billings to the government that lacked the necessary documentation to merit reimbursement." In the end, it boils down to money and that black-gold oil, the source of Repuglican power for Repuglicans!!!

"Former Sen. Phil Gramm, a top economic adviser to presumptive GOP nominee John McCain,... called the United States 'a nation of whiners.'" Gramm should know, because "nobody does it better" than Gramm, "whining" that is!

"Michael Mukasey has become the Bush Administration's new 'Mr. Cover-up.'" It's the age old problem of having "another one just like the other one" when a Repuglican "replacement" is confirmed and it's about time Democrats wake up to that simple fact! There are no Statesmen, there are no Patriots in the Repuglican Party, the only loyalties they have are to and for themselves! Repuglicans are true to Repuglicans only; you can forgettabout "duty, country, and honor"! You can forgettabout honesty and integrity; you can forgettabout values and morals! The rule of law by Repuglicans for Repuglicans means "anything you can get away with" and so far they seem to have gotten away with it all!!!

Reality strikes! Try as they will, there are times, like right now, when even the best of the best plotters and schemers cannot make a silk purse out of a sow's ear, nor can they make a dynamic successful presidential candidate out of a tired, old, uninteresting dud! John McCain's ideas and his experience are so yesterday's news! It is impossible for yesterday's recycled candidate to solve today's problems! America's future and democracy's survival depends on a fresh approach, a new vision, someone with the ability to inspire people, the ability to negotiate, the ability to see and feel the complexities of life, it takes someone with the intelligence to maintain a peaceful world, a world where men, women, and children of all colors, all races, all creeds can walk and talk together in harmony! A world in which we can honor and respect our differences and accept our basic similarities! It takes a world of understanding that we are all human beings!
