The Bush Administration is a threat to our national security in and of itself. You need look no further than 9/11.

A BUZZFLASH EDITORIAL

For BuzzFlash, the most fundamental "in your face, no further proof needed" evidence of Bush Administration negligence and malfeasance in relation to 9/11 occurred in August of 2001.

BuzzFlash has commented, editorialized, run stories and written about this countless times.

In August of 2001, Bush was given a briefing by a CIA official that Condi Rice testified was headlined, "Bin Laden Determined to Strike in the U.S." It included the strong possibility that Osama bin Laden's group would carry out hijackings.

As we have noted ad nauseum, Bush and Rice (who knew too of the briefing) did nothing -- absolutely nothing -- in response to this intelligence warning about al-Qaeda planning strikes in the U.S., particularly hijackings.

The most fundamental fact remains as clear as can be: if Bush or Rice had issued a special alert to airports about potential hijackings and put special airlines security procedures in place, 9/11 might never have happened.

Bush and Rice, and others in the Bush Administration are -- at a minimum -- guilty of gross negligence.

The most tragic irony is that out of the ashes of 9/11, Karl Rove was able to build a myth that we needed Bush for our national security, when he did nothing to prevent 9/11 even when directly warned of such a likelihood.

In fact, as we recently twice noted, journalist Robert Parry wrote of Bush's juvenile, irresponsible and perhaps criminally negligent response to the infamous August, 2001, briefing:

"The CIA tried to warn Bush about the threat on Aug. 6, 2001, with the hope that presidential action could energize government agencies and head off the attack. The CIA sent analysts to his ranch in Crawford, Texas, to brief him and deliver a report entitled 'Bin Laden Determined to Strike in US.'

"Bush was not pleased by the intrusion. He glared at the CIA briefer and snapped, 'All right, you’ve covered your ass,' according to [Ron] Suskind’s book.

"Then, putting the CIA’s warning in the back of his mind and ordering no special response, Bush returned to a vacation of fishing, clearing brush and working on a speech about stem-cell research."

On August 2, 2006, the Washington Post reports, belatedly, that the 9/11 Commission almost considered criminal charges against Pentagon officials for perjury in regards to their testimony about 9/11. This is no small revelation.

There are many people who have been trying to get to the bottom of how 9/11 happened, given America's tremendous security apparatus and that no orders to implement special anti-hijacking measures were given. In the case of the Pentagon, the lack of any effective response to the hijackings -- and the Pentagon's lying about what happened -- opens a Pandora's box of new questions.

One doesn't have to believe every aspect of every "conspiracy theory" about 9/11 to know one basic truth: At a minimum, the Bush Administration is guilty of gross negligence in not taking any efforts to prevent 9/11, despite CIA warnings, and of mishandling the hijackings once they occurred, not to mention Bush's passive response to the event, as he sat reading "My Pet Goat" while 3,000 people were dying.

How anyone can believe that this man should be responsible for America’s national security when he is so irresponsible in protecting us is central to the mystery of the myth that Rove, the media, and the timid Democrats have created around the Bush Administration.

The Bush Administration is a threat to our national security in and of itself. You need look no further than 9/11.

We don't know everything that they didn't or did do, but already we know enough to know that they were, in all likelihood, unforgivably and perhaps criminally negligent.

Whether or not they were just incompetent and lazy or were willfully allowing it to happen to create the "Pearl Harbor" event that the PNAC felt was necessary to galvanize Americans into a wartime footing remains to be uncovered.

But, already, we know enough.

Our national security and our lives are at risk as long as the Busheviks are in power.

Bush & 911

BuzzFlash is my favorite site for news and you guys do a terrific job, every day. But for heaven's sake, isn't it time you caught up with the majority of your fellow citizens on 911? It was an inside job. Look, go check out one of the following. Physicist Steven Jones's video on the physical impossibility of the official story. Or theologian David Ray Griffin's lecture on absurdities and contradictions in the official story. Or for a thorough survey, Webster Tarpley's book, Synthetic Terrorism. If after viewing or reading any of these, you still believe the 911 commission and the Bush version, then so be it. But if you think the official version is a myth, and you don't have the courage to speak out, then you have joined the enablers of America's slide into the darkness of a police state.

Reality shouldn't be that hard to grasp

I'm a Finn who has been researching 9/11 for almost two years now. There are many "smoking guns" -- such as the lack of air defense response during the almost two-hour hijacking drama, the fact that three different explanations have been offered for this, and the anti-hijacking exercises underway at the same time as the real events -- pointing to official complicity in the 9/11 events. However, an adult individual with half a brain active really only needs to watch this short video to see that it was an inside job. My detailed analysis of the case can be found here.

9/11

Juli in JAX says: Let us not forget the astounding words of then National Security Advisor Codileeza Rice in response to criticism about not alerting the FAA about likely highjacking attempts in Summer 2001 " If we had known that airplanes could be used a weapon, we would have moved heaven and earth to stop them. This from the astute student of military history (Kamekazis, anyone?)and one familiar with the threats to Langley during GHWBush's term! PUH-LEEZE! BUSH KNEW, Condi, knew, Cheney knew, Rumsfeld knew, and Ashcroft knew enough not to schedule any commercial flights. How dumb do they think we all are?

Of All the Crimes

Of all the crimes that the bush administration has committed, 9/11 is the most insidious. We could start with the rigged elections, which would be the one crime that completely undermines the democratic process. Iraq would be the next deliberate obvious crime. But 9/11 stands alone as the most horrendous. The fact that bush&co. were either at best be criminally negligent or at worst complicit in the deliberate killing of its own citizens to advance some hidden political agenda is the most sickening of all. One doesn't have to do much research before you uncover hundreds of unanswered questions or obvious lies about the events leading up to that faithful day, or what has happened since. Starting with the documentary "Loose Change" to the recent airing on C-SPAN of the 9/11 conference in Los Angeles, hosted by Alex Jones. What is puzzling me is why 9/11? Both the election fraud and Iraq seem to be easier to prove and for the American public to handle. We know bush&co. will do something to prevent the Democrats from gaining hold of the either branch of Congress. Perhaps those that know, with that knowledge, are looking to prevent what may be another 9/11? President Eisenhower was more than a little prophetic when he warned about the "military industrial complex". For it is without a doubt that these merchants of death hold our government in the palm of their hands. What will it take for us to get them to release that hold? Could it be the exposure of 9/11?

9-11

I find it disturbing that Buzzflash continues to promote the governments' conspiracy theory about 9-11 by not challenging anything directly. Just the same ol' same ol' "It was all just a series of mistakes, bungled opportunities and incompetence." Damn that Osama and his hijackers! How could anyone actually believe what the government and their mainstream media poodles say about this event? Apparently, Buzzflash, and all those they allow as guest contributors do. Sad......

what really happened on 9/11

mogen After everything we DO KNOW that has become a matter of public record, there is NOTHING we should put past the Bush crew, whether they were sitting it out, deliberately or mindlessly, and letting what they knew was going to happen to happen, or played a role in setting it up (which we may never know) they are a hazard to America's and the rest of the world's health and welfare.
