Dennis Kucinich

On November 14, 2007, Dennis Kucinich was honored with the BuzzFlash Wings of Justice Award for introducing into the House of Representatives articles to impeach Richard Cheney.

We noted at the time:

Indeed, if this were a Democratic administration, successful impeachment proceedings would have been launched by the Republicans in Congress years ago. It is a testament to the mainstream media's and D.C. establishment's double standard that both the Republican and Democratic leaders consider any effort to impeach Cheney or Bush as an "embarrassment" to the Democrats, despite the documented chronic illegal behavior of the White House. It's shameful that so many members of Congress sworn to uphold the Constitution turned their backs on it.

Little has changed in terms of the lack of justice in regards to Bush and Cheney on Capitol Hill.

But Dennis Kucinich is still holding them accountable and is now holding Bush accountable after introducing 35 articles of impeachment against him, during a late night session of the House on June 9, 2008.

This week's BuzzFlash reader nominator praises Kucinich's action:

Because tonight, June 9, Congressman Dennis Kucinich kept the U.S. House in session til after midnight while he read his 35 Articles of Impeachment against George W. Bush. Kucinich addressed the House for more than 3 hours non-stop, during which he described every crime, corruption, and failing of this Administration, and further how all these many actions should be viewed ultimately as transgressions against the American People and against the Oath of Office of the President of the U.S.

Tonight, Dennis Kucinich laid it all out there, he put it all "on the table," and most importantly he put it INTO the Congressional Record, and for that I believe him to have proven himself to be a truly heroic American Patriot deserving of the coveted Wings of Justice recognition.

The most recent revelations by Scott McClellan are only the latest to reveal that the Bush Administration openly defied the law, led the nation to war on lies, and committed high crimes and misdemeanors.

For having the guts and integrity to demand that justice be done, Dennis Kucinich once again merits being honored with the BuzzFlash Wings of Justice Award.

Kucinich understands - sheeple don't understand.

We had a perfect candidate for president. One that has guts, integrity and honor. BUT: he does not look good on TV. For possibly that reason alone, American sheeple let this jewel of a candidate slip through their fingers, and drop out of the race because the media decided who runs and who doesn't. Dear sheeple, I've got a news for you: it is your fault and yours alone, that you've lost an opportunity to have a president who would work for YOU, and NOT for big business. Vote Kucinich, write him in, and when he wins, draft him to become a President that we, the People, don't have to be ashamed of.

Impeach!

Impeach and imprison! If only the Democrat-led leadership in Congress had the guts to impeach this criminal president, they would find that not only would they have the support and backing of a majority of the American public, but also the rest of the world, likely guaranteeing a Democrat win in November for the White House. The strength of America has always relied on the foundations set forth in its laws and Constitution. To continue to ignore those cherished laws now in the republic's time of need, is a crime in itself, and indeed possibly even a greater one.

The Next BuzzFlash Wings Of Justice Could Go To All Of Us

"For what?" "Bringing about the impeachment of President George Bush." "How?" "A mass uprising." "When?" "It's now in progress."

Our Laws Allow Impeachment, Our Morality Demands It

When one considers all the evidence to date regarding events of the U.S. led Iraq invasion, including last week's Senate Select Committee on Intelligence's report, plus the many writings from those who worked inside the Bush White House, the scope and depth of the lying is staggering and cries out for justice to be served.

President Bush and his White House Neo-Con-men (who signed the Project for the New American Century manifesto for world domination at all cost) should be put on trial before the public for the atrocities they have caused.

And Speaker Nancy Pelosi should be investigated for aiding them, saying the impeachment issue over the Iraq War is "off the table", and as she states in a recent letter to me, "I believe impeachment proceedings against Vice President Dick Cheney will distract us from our mission…". Well, to Ms. Pelosi and all those who are relentlessly enabling this epic tragedy of senseless death, shattered lives, broken families, mind-numbing abuses of our hard-earned tax dollars, savage corporate exploitation; I say, JUSTICE IS NO DISTRACTION! There is no justice without impeachment!

Many in Congress and the Senate had the same intelligence as the White House administration, yet their conclusions were vastly different and, as it turns out, shockingly correct.

The press, which as we now know from Bill Moyers' insightful PBS documentary, "Buying the War", rather than giving us the benefit of being watch-dog, instead served as lap-dog to the Bush White House—providing no real means for adequate public scrutiny.

The Congressional Black Caucus was, and is, a shining example of stewardship of the public interest and welfare. They stood in the House on the eve of the invasion on Iraq and made fact based, rational, and passionate presentations pleading with the President not to invade Iraq.

Sadly, most Americans to this day still do not know about those presentations because the mainstream press never reported that historic event.

Nevertheless, I shall forever remember that night in 2003, while watching C-SPAN—those powerful words, with truth and humanity from Rep. Maxine Waters:

"Mr. President, you cannot substitute a preemptive strike on Saddam Hussein for finding the terrorists. We want the terrorists to be found….

We want to secure the homeland. We are worried that you have been diverted, that you are about to do this preemptive strike without the documentation….

Yes, every country should be able to defend itself, but we are in no danger from Iraq. As a matter of fact, that is probably one of the weakest points on the globe for us to attack. We are not threatened by Saddam Hussein….

What we see and we are witnessing is the mismanagement of America. Someone today criticized Senator Daschle because he talked about the diplomatic disaster. Mr. President, it is a diplomatic disaster. We are watching before our very eyes the mismanagement of our beloved country. Our schools are falling apart. You said you wished to leave no child behind, but, Mr. President, you have not funded assistance to education that will have our children in the best possible situations where they can learn. Our health care system has fallen apart. In my city, in my county we are closing healthcare clinics. We are closing hospitals….

Mr. President, you are not able to tell us what this war is going to cost and what the cleanup, what the revitalization, the reconstruction of Iraq is going to cost. The American people need to know where our dollars are going. The American people need to understand the cost of this war and why….

Mr. President, we must raise these questions. We must raise these questions because we are patriots. We are folks who love this country. We are folks who have stood by this country no matter what, and we will continue to stand by this country. We will continue to stand by our soldiers. But, Mr. President, you are going to have to account for the leadership that you are giving, and I say to you and all those who are advising you, be it Wolfowitz, be it Secretary of State Colin Powell, be it Condoleezza Rice, be it Karl Rove, or any of those in the inner circle, you are going to be held responsible for what takes place in this world, what takes place with this preemptive strike, what takes place with our soldiers and our families…."

It is now time for us, all of us, to speak up to our elected officials without delay, in the name of justice--show the world, and future generations, what democracy can be. Our laws say we are entitled to impeachment proceedings, and our morality demands it.

Because we were fooled into war with Iraq, there are so many in this country who weep at the mere sight of the empty chair at the dinner table, knowing their loved one will never return to break bread in the sacred fellowship of family.

Indeed, justice is no distraction! There will be no justice without impeachment!

Patriot Kucinich

Dennis Kucinich IS a true patriot, and my hero! I just wish I could have voted him into the Presidency! But still he fights for us, the "little" people! Bless you Dennis Kucinich! And thanks for taking note, Buzzflash!

C-SPAN reporting possible vote Wed.

So, at around 12:10 AM EST, in the US House, the House Readers having started at 8:25 PM EST, completed reading the full text of Kucinich's 35 Articles of Impeachment (it took 2 of them tag-teaming to complete the task, at just over 4 hours), again broadcast live on C-SPAN. C-SPAN is reporting tonight that there may be a vote tomorrow, Wed. June 11th, on whether or not to send the Articles of Impeachment to the House Judiciary Comm. (I suppose where the Dems could choose to push it and force media attention, or they could allow it to languish and die...). C-SPAN is also reporting that they have the full text of the Articles of Impeachment on their website, c-span.org Anyhoo, I agree with you- I wanted to vote for him also. But it is important to remember and give him alot of credit: He DID impact this Democratic primary, even though he got essentially only scant attention from the MSM, and then that was generally negative. But for people that were paying attention, his statements in the Dem debates were inspiring. So, if he's your hero (like he is mine), then I figure the best thing to do is to try and keep him in the Congress-- go to his website and give him $20 bucks-- he's still got to get re-elected come November. I'm on his mailing list and it's interesting- their campaign sent out an email Tues reporting that early Tues morning, after midnight when Kucinich had finally finished presenting these Articles to the House Mon night, that the Kucinich campaign website suspiciously "crashed" and was down for several hours...
