Subject: McCain and Myanmar's Lobbyists
The problem with McCain's campaign manager's lobbying firm having ties to Myanmar's junta lies in the nature of lobbying. It isn't the same as if McCain had ties to a firm that once sold spare parts to the Myanmar regime. The trouble is in the product that lobbyists sell. They peddle the ability to influence.
For the next several months, McCain and Obama will seek to influence us, night and day, ad nauseam, influence us until we cry uncle and can't take it anymore. Both candidates must choose the tools they will use to exert that influence. It's no secret that, while McCain courts an assiduously independent image, he hires many lobbyists, lots and lots of lobbyists, a high number even by Washington's standards. Does it matter that a top McCain advisor helped burnish the image of thugs content to watch thousands of Burmese citizens die where they might fall? After all, McCain fired him, and has always been unwaveringly critical of Myanmar's junta.
The trouble is the other several hundred lobbyists under McCain's employ. The trouble is, as they tutor Mr. McCain on how to effectively gain our vote in November, who else do they represent? These men are not only working for Mr. McCain, and when he talks, one wonders whose voice we are really hearing.

Enough is enough!
I have always been a big fan of BuzzFlash but not lately, since you have become so completely and unsupportably uncritical an Obama partisan and so totally and scurillously negative about Clinton. You have gone out of control in the last day or two with your "white sheet" headline that suggests Clinton is like a Ku Klux Klan member and by your linking hers to the thinking of George Wallace. My God, have you no shame?
Wake up! Clinton is not the enemy and Obama, who will be the Dem's nominee in the fall, will need her and her husband's support and that of her base because Obama's is too narrow for a general election. He knows that and so should you. Does pointing that out make me a racist too?
What will you do now that you have painted yourselves into a corner with your appalling labeling of Clinton when she stands arm in arm with Obama in the fall at rallies, whether or not she is the VP candidate? Will you disown him for the company he keeps? Will you say he is racist? Like George Wallace? Enough! I hope you stop this brutal pillorying of Clinton once the primaries are done.
Thanks to you I do not know if I can support Obama in the fall. Your besotted attitude of "he can do no wrong" has led me to examine him more closely and, believe me, there are a lot of weaknesses there. He is a good man but not the paragon you have promoted. It is very possible that unless Clinton actively supports him the awful McCain might just be the next President. And that will be the fault of journalism like yours.

Subject: Fallujah Revisited: Bush, Petraeus Prepare 'Cleansing' Of Sadr City 5/10
It's worse than that. The so-called History Channel is now premiering a falacious Fallujah docu-drama of a horrendous 2004 war crime made heroic. Joseph Goebbels would be stunned in its propaganda arrogance the MSM in the guise of fact once again shovels down the throat of the anaesthetized American public as actual history. LOL.
While the world will continue, the end of America is at hand and in spades because its out-Foxed public has no idea of real history...and, worse, doesn't care. Because of its failure to prosecute its criminal leaders, this nation has no idea the darkness coming. Indeed, it never will have any genuine idea of the magnitude of the crimes of which it has been accused by the whole world. We and our tortured terror will not be missed.
I am outraged at this because it is now so obvious that the Vietnam sacrifice of of 56,000 of my generation's youth truly, truly meant nothing. Absolutely nothing--except maybe an end to the draft which now prolongs the commission of these crimes and embeds us in a hell we will never, never escape.

Subject: Mailbag ... 5/9/08
Hey Buzzers...forgive me if I repeat myself, so much of this mailbag bears repeating oneself. To Rob Moitoza, US Navy Vet...first. Your difference with your friend...is being found out all across the nation. I have a brother who told me that a lot of politics got past me (in regard to the Bush/Cheney presidency) because I was not religious. Funny...he is the one who told me that a wonderful Black writer (he always points out his quotes from blacks, as if that is going to impress me) Kenneth Blackwell...yeah...the one who was the Sec'y of State of Ohio during the mess that was the 2004 election. This man (I use that term loosely) said that the book of Revelations in the Bible...says that the Anti Christ is going to be a man in his forties, of Muslim descent! The book of nothing I have read in the Bible...tells us the NAME or anything else about anti Christ ... mostly it talks of a beast....and I would tend to think that is either Bush or Cheney...just me. Yeah...that is the kind of s*** I hear all the time. Or used to, this week I cut him off quickly...too worried about the state of this nation to listen to idiots anymore! Oh, he has many times told me that I cannot possibly be a Christian...if I believe in abortion ... it does no good to tell him that I am Pro-life. I have three exceptions...the life of the Mother...incest and rape. Those things have to be in the bill...otherwise...don't touch it.
I remember well, back when Tillie Fowler was in the congress or senate...whichever...during the Bill Clinton presidency...they tried to pass an abortion bill, someone had called into Washington Journal and asked when they were going to pass it. Tillie said, they had passed one but the President vetoed it ... First time and last time I ever got through to Washington Journal...and I asked her one question: "Ms.Fowler ... did your bill make the exception for the life of the Mother, rape and Incest!?"... and she was honest, I will give her that...she said, "NO!"... but I made my point...and was amazed.
Nothing since then has been easy. I am trying to watch the bill for the war funding, and cannot stand it...they are trying to put additions on the bill for things that need to be done here at home...and he will veto it, then come out and make a big, crappy speech about how the congress are trying to treat our military mean...meanies...congress.!! Every time this happens, I just despise that man more.! The more they give in to him...the harder it is to even live in this country when he is gone.
We have nothing left folks...if you are a normal middle income person and live out here in this America you know that he is absolutely ruining it...and getting away with it....God help us all!

Hi Buzz ...
Why do our stupid reps always do things the hard way?....This could all be done so easily and quickly by putting both Hillary and Barack on the ballot and let all of the people vote.... and it would definitely show who would be the "PEOPLE'S CHOICE" for President..... Never mind the delegates and super delegates...who needs them.... Hasn't anyone thought of this?????

Subject: We Must Stop Bickering About Which One
I know that each of us has our own favorite, with the possible exception of me. I just want the Republicans the hell out!!!!!
I see some good and some bad in both of our candidates...but, mostly just from remembering the Clinton administration...Democrats in general...are more working for the people who are paying the bills.
We come from Southern Populist Democrats...who believe strongly in 'Government of the people, for the people and by the people!
Think about it a lot...we do not want to cut off our noses to spite our faces! I have been through hell since 2000...just seeing the dimwit president and his more dimwit vice president ... lying their way through likely everything...and no matter what Bill Clinton said to the heckler, there are still many, many questions about 9/11 that we will never know...it is like the assassination of President Kennedy...there is something there that does not add up...but,since I have no pull...I cannot figure it out...I just know that when GEEDUBYA and his sidekick, DICK came in...they had the plan...and it worked.
It might have been a stroke of luck (not for the US but for them). It might have been real...but whatever...we do know that the thing on the USS Lincoln...was staged!!! And, every speech he has made since then has been filled with lies ... So...let's band together...to try to not give this damned thing to McCain...or George the second!

Subject: The Clintons
Ok, BuzzFlash,
It seems O'mamabama will be the Democratic nominee. You did your part in promoting him by constantly dissing Clintons. As did the corporate media! And what kind of support did the DNC give Hillary???? I never thought I would watch Fox, but driven to it, I found less bias. So, will you just lay off Clintons! Or is attacking Clintons the best way to make OBAMA look GREAT? He's the candidate NOW! Don't you think Clintons should take a 6 month vacation (they never seem to take one) and re-appear after the Nov. election? I do! I'm anxious to see your site once you drop all your daily garbage on Hillary and Bill. Or will you STILL be attacking that they should be behind Obama to get him elected?
Please NO VP position for Hillary. If something happened to Obama, you would say Clintons did it. Keep your razor sharpened, surely you'll keep whipping up on 'them horrible Americans called Clintons. Man, they brought this country down!! Great Minds you all have!
I hope they take a long vacation. They deserve it!

Subject: Your Headline: A Travesty and Dishonoring of Our GIs Beyond Words: War dead cremated at facility for pets 5/11
Just my opinion, but I think to call it a dishonor to cremate soldiers at a facility that also cremates pets is not a fair statement. The dishonor would be to cremate them with the chicken hawks who send them to kill and be killed to enrich themselves. I see no dishonor in cremating them with pets who have brought joy to the lives of those who love them, who do all we ask of them, like finding lost children or people buried in building accidents, or seeing eye dogs, or just wagging tails or purring at a lonely moment. Subject: To The U.S. Census Bureau & Department Of Commerce
Briefly, a census is useful for fair and necessary distribution of taxpayer funds for the benefit of taxpayers, not marketing purposes for the avaricious commerce community or any other nefarious purposes. Whether or not a person has difficulty climbing his/her stairs (among other unusual and invasive questions)is irrelevant. An elevator that is going to be provided free of charge in the home would make the question relevant, but not coming from the Department of Commerce or the Census Bureau or required by law. But the census hasn't cured the health care crisis. But never mind that; solve the problem or rising gas and food prices so people aren't forced to work two jobs, live paycheck to paycheck, and lose their homes with a second Depression looming over us.
The ridiculous degree of intrusiveness in this harmless sounding "survey" (sly profiling attempt) is essentially a warrantless demand for one's personal diary, which no self-respecting individual would give family, friends or neighbors - why would they hand it over to the government and the commerce community, which anyone with a speck of intelligence knows are bedfellows? Not to mention that you've sold our "guaranteed confidentiality" to LOCKHEED MARTIN; another prime example of lucrative government contracts, privatizing, and corporate welfare. And asking what time a person leaves for work is the type of question a thief might ask (or the FBI vis-a-vis the Patriot Act).
Naturally, people would be much more inclined to respond if they felt they had a choice in the matter; respect goes a long way. However, attempting to scare people into responding by saying their response is required by law, renders this "innocent" survey a shade like the Spanish Inquisition. Is this a trial (anyone who receives this survey might think so - what's the crime and where's the subpoena?) or a free country with a Constitution and a Bill of Rights?
The additional potential for abuse is far too great to be of any comfort. Moreover, with convenient cross-referencing between governmental agencies (aside from irresponsible, ludicrous "losing" of laptops and "accidental" REPEATED public postings of personal information ONLINE by our trustworthy government), this information is relatively easy to obtain and not simply for authorized Census agents. A diary, however, is not. Nor will it be submissively surrendered. Daily activities and personal struggles are still divulged voluntarily - unless this has become a fascist Nazi dictatorship.
Respectfully,
John Q. Taxpayer
P.S. Perhaps you ought to brush up on the Bill of Rights and the Declaration of Independence.

Subject: The Unthinkable, The Unconscionable, and The Noble [sent Friday]
Smoke continues to rise and bullets continue to fly in Lebanon, where "militants" and the military once again battle. "Pro-government fighters" have lost Beirut to hezbollah and other Shiite militias. You may recall Israel taking on hezbollah, who is backed by Syria and Iran, in a month long conflict, because of the capture of two Israeli soldiers. When the conflict ended, hezbollah declared a 'divine victory'. An all out civil war, which is feared by many in Lebanon, would give the unstable region even more instability. But we have a different possible civil war on our minds. A civil war that would occur as a result of a "pre-emptive" strike, or invasion, by the United States of America. A "doctrine" that has inflamed instability in the region of Asia we refer to as the Middle East.
In wartime news, Congress is just about set to give the chickenhawk-in-chief another blank check, but with caveat this time. The addition of an increase in education benefits for veterans has "blue dog" Democrats and little georgey 29% up in arms. You see the "blue dog" Democrats, or as I like to call them "Pick your party or go independent" Democrats are for "pay as you go" which means no spending unless you have the funding source. This "principle" of course doesn't count when talking about $70,000,000,000.00+ in funds for a war that has cost Us $500,000,000,000.00 already. Maybe I should refer to them as "pick and choose" Democrats. Senator Jim Webb has proposed a new GI Bill which enlarges education benefits to veterans. Little prince AWOL and his henchmen (and woman) are against it, because it would make it harder to get people to re-enlist. After serving their country, more soldiers would want to go to college instead of going back to the frontlines from which they have just returned. You heard right, if we give them too many benefits for fighting for "Our Freedom" then they may want to use them instead of going on their SEVENTH tour of duty. Unconscionable! Of course, grumpy "I was a prisoner of war" grampa, being the biggest superstar hero veteran of the universe is... not sure/against it. What a pandering, bull**it express jerk the distinguished Senator from Arizona has turned out to be, since trading in his pre-2000 maverick status for the title of bush jr. jr.
Since I mentioned johnny third term, and in the interest of equal time, Senator Barack Obama has taken an undeniable and increasingly insurmountable lead in pledged delegates, state contests, and the Popular vote in the Democratic Party's Presidential Primary. And has now taken the lead in superdelegates. Senator Clinton is remaining in the race. Recently, using Indiana and the southern state of North Carolina to base how all us whites vote, she recently gave "Obama's support among working, hard-working Americans, white Americans, is weakening again" as the reason for her continuing. At least it's a noble cause.
Just a side note: Gallup says Obama's support among whitey is as high as Candidate Kerry's was in 2004. The uninspiring Senator Kerry didn't have the youth, black, or new vote that Senator Barack Obama has. If he did, maybe the last four years would have gone a little differently.
