"He knows pornography when he sees it, because he posts it online. Alex Kozinski, a top Reagan-appointed conservative federal judge, is caught putting up web pornography while overseeing the trial of a pornographer. He thinks it's all just fun, including the sodomy, the guy giving himself a bl*w job,and two women showing their pubic hair in front of a sign for "Bush for President." Uh, we are not making this up. That is why GOP-appointed Judge Alex Kozinski is the BuzzFlash GOP Hypocrite of the Week."

Alex Kozinski
Welcome back to the BuzzFlash GOP Hypocrite of the Week.
There's an old story of Supreme Court Justice Potter Stewart who said about pornography, "I know it when I see it."
So it's a little bit of a surprise that a Reagan-appointed conservative federal judge in California posted what we would call pornography on his son's Web site, but thinks there's nothing wrong with it.
That's right, Judge Alex Kozinski, Chief Judge of the 9th Circuit Federal Court in Los Angeles was discovered to have uploaded sexually disgusting photos on the Web by the Los Angeles Times [2].
Now, mind you, the disclosure came as Kozinski was hearing a trial concerning –- what else –- pornography.
Oh, those conservative Republicans. Double standard isn't adequate to describe their behavior; perhaps call it hypocrisy multiplied by infinity.
According to the LA Times article [3] of June 12:
The sexually explicit material on the site was extensive, including images of masturbation, public sex and contortionist sex. There was a slide show striptease featuring a transsexual, and a folder that contained a series of photos of women's crotches in snug-fitting clothing or underwear.
Kozinski told The Times that he began saving the sexually explicit materials and other items of interest on his website years ago.
"People send me stuff like this all the time," he said.
In turn, he said, he occasionally passes on items he finds interesting or funny to others.
Among the sexually explicit material on his site that he defended as humorous were two photos. In one, a young man is bent over in a chair and performing fellatio on himself. In the other, two women are sitting in what appears to be a cafe with their skirts hiked up to reveal their pubic hair and genitalia. Behind them is a sign reading "Bush for President."
"That is a funny joke," Kozinski said.
Kozinski conceded that one of the photos he posted was degrading and gross. Gee, we wonder which one.
But Kozinski is a conscientious Republican Federal judge -– one that the Bush Administration considers U.S. Supreme Court material. "The judge emphasized that he never used appeals court computers to maintain his site," he told the LA Times.
Apparently, there is also an issue of the judge having illegally downloaded copyrighted music on the site.
In the hullabaloo that resulted from the revelation of Judge Kozinski's online pornography postings, he reluctantly halted the pornography trial he was presiding over to decide if he should recuse himself. Uh, like there's any question about whether or not he is fit to judge someone else's legal right to disseminate pornography?
"I guess I should be more careful about access and all," Judge Kozinski told The New York Times [4]. "I didn't put anything on there I think would be embarrassing."
Oh boy, this guy is definitely the BuzzFlash GOP Hypocrite of the Week, and perhaps the Republican judicial GOP Hypocrite of the year. He and Larry Craig ought to have a confab about their self-brought on trials and tribulations soon. Maybe they can exchange photos of "wide stance" positions and the like.
Remember our motto: So many Republican hypocrites, so little time.
Catch up with you soon.
