MS. SMITH GOES TO WASHINGTON
BuzzFlash,
"The progress of evolution from President Washington to President Grant [is] alone enough to upset Darwin." -- Henry Adams, Education, 1907
I think we could add a few more names to that quote and it would still ring true today. All of a sudden we keep hearing how people are concerned about how they want experience in the White House. What kind of experience? The kind that supported this illegal and criminal Bush GOP regime, without fail, for eight years? Bush, regardless of how much blood he has spilled or how much fraud he has allowed to go on, or the legislative war on the American people, was always supported by almost every Republican in Congress. But, that's not the worst of it, every American bears the fruit of this treasonous Bush GOP regime around the world.
What kind of experience brought about the support to invade Iraq by many members of Congress, Democrats and Republicans? What kind of experience brought about the days, weeks, months of propaganda that Saddam had anything to do with 911? What kind of experience thought it was okay to constantly give Bush the money he wanted and giving us Americans the excuse that they were supporting US troops, when we know that the troops were writing home for equipment, food, not to mention so many troops had to keep returning to Iraq or Afghanistan, only to come home injured and be treated in a filthy hospital. Only to come home to fight for their pay and their benefits. Only to come home without jobs, careers, and many ended up committing suicide or living on the streets. (A short list of what has been done to our military and National Guard under this Bush GOP administration, and financed by Congress.) What kind of experience did it take to keep Congress from investigating election fraud and sending people to jail after the 2004 election? What kind of experience was it that prevented Democratic leadership from doing their jobs, investigating, impeaching and prosecuting the Bush GOP administration?
As I've repeated many times before, the highest ever debt, destruction, and reports of millions of people dead or living outside of Iraq, probably in refugee camps ... all supported by the loyalty of the Bush GOP ... why would any thinking American have to debate whether or not to vote for a Democratic candidate or a candidate of this criminal Bush regime, who is still in control of US government, and who has not had to fear accountability for the illegal invasion of Iraq, for the deaths of the innocent, unarmed people killed in Iraq, Afghanistan, New Orleans all due to ... experience?
It's much easier for many people to want US government to just do their jobs because today, many citizens in this country are overworked, underpaid, and struggling and they don't want to be bothered with having to be a watch dog of US government, too ... however, it's because of that, that the US government is out of control, and it has to be cleaned up before it will ever be a functioning democracy again. Yes, we have a dysfunctional democracy today ... and, we can't say that it is due to the inexperienced.
Who do you think put these ideas into our heads? It's common knowledge that the Bush Republican Party of today is not made up of real conservatives. The only thing they are conservative with is their own money. It's common knowledge today that the Bush GOP does not want to discuss or debate real issues ... they will always use whatever will cause social splits in this country ... themes around racism, anti-Semitism, gays, women, voter fraud (no such thing, they just want the words changed from the real problem, "election fraud") ... and, yes, experience. But, they will never talk about the real issues such as why we have such a broken economy ... is it due to not enough experience? I don't think so. It's due to greed, and the ability to flaunt (swagger) in front of US law. No one has been able to do that better than Bush, Cheney, Rice, Rove, and Rummy ... and certain members of the illustrious Supreme Court.
Many of these Bush GOP members of Congress and of the Bush administration have been in government working with Bush number one ... we Americans never were able to get those bills paid before an "experienced" Supreme Court took the law into their own hands and put their very experienced "little shaver" into office without fear of any accountability. (sarcasm)
Today, we can say that experience in US government has amounted to the complete control of US government ... a Bush GOP vast kingdom of baubles, whatnots, and knickknacks just for their taking ... and they did.
"Experience, the name everyone gives to their mistakes." -- Oscar Wilde.
I'm sure many Americans could add more to the list below. But, we haven't seen any of that short list appear in our government, especially under the Bush administration.
As a new resident in the people's White House, a person who is a great diplomat, knowledgeable about the world we live in and can talk about it, give me sincerity, a seeker of the truth, a desire for change, the courage for real change, accountability, justice for past crimes in US government, a deep sense of belief in US democracy actually practiced as an example to the world, (whether or not wearing a cheap pin), a belief in US law upheld in US government, a sincere belief in the Oaths of Office, the ability to show and feel empathy, and to understand the meaning of morality, and the ability to show respect towards our fellow human beings around the world who differ from us, and a respect for the sanctity of all life on this planet, and the protection of that life.
And, lastly, belief is not enough, the ability to use action, even towards those who are great colleagues, but who also aren't doing their jobs. When one lives up to those attributes throughout their life, even when serving in US government ... that's experience enough ... and will surpass anything that this country has had in its leadership for over thirty years.
"That man is wise to some purpose who gains his wisdom at the expense and from the experience of another." -- Plautus.
Taking that saying verbatim and looking back at the eight years of this illegal and treasonous Bush GOP regime, and remembering the fact that McCain supports this criminal regime ... we all should be experienced enough by now to know who to vote for in this election ... don'tcha think?
