Subject: rush and pat dig deeper

Hi, Buzz!!

Just when I think Pat Robertson and Rush Limbaugh can sink no lower, they do.

With regard to Pat "The Earthquake is God's Punishment" Robertson, maybe Buzzflash should add another award (in addition to Wings of Justice, GOP Hypocrite, and Media Putz). This one should be for the religious-right figure who does the most in a given period of time (like a week) to bring the name of the Lord Jesus Christ into disrepute. Maybe call it the "Trashing Jesus" award, or some such thing. Pat should get the first one hands down. I don't understand the man; every time there's a natural disaster, he's right out there claiming it's God's punishment for one thing or another. What happened to God's love and mercy? Hasn't Pat read the Bible? What's he going to say when some disaster happens to him? No wait - I know what he'll say: He'll be on the airwaves asking for donations. What a worthy (not) cause!

As for Rush, I'd be in favor of dropping him into the middle of Port-au-Prince with no food, no water, no roof over his head, and - worst of all - NO MICROPHONE!!! Let's see how long he lasts.

Why does ANYONE listen to these guys?

Subject: Please Help Haiti

Haiti is the poorest nation in the Western Hemisphere.  80% percent of the country lives below the poverty line.  54% live in abject poverty.  On January 12, Haiti experienced a Catastrophic 7.0 Earthquake.  There is an up to date time line of the aftermath and relief efforts at Huffington Post complete with photos, footage, President Obama's speech and announcement that he's sending Former Presidents Clinton (UN special envoy to Haiti) and bush (yes w), as well as statements from Our Secretary of State, the UN, Doctors without Borders and others.  The earthquake hit right outside of the nation's capital Port Au Prince.  The footage and pictures of the suffering and devastation these poor people are currently enduring has brought me to tears more than once.  Bodies lining the streets, bloodied, dust covered faces dazed in terror. Houses, buildings, schools, hospitals, the Presidential Palace, the UN Embassy destroyed.

The people of Haiti need Our Help.  There are several places where you can donate to help the survivors survive and rebuild.  Please do.  I did.

The American Red Cross
Text Haiti to 90999 to donate $10
Yele (Wyclef Jean's Haitian relief) Text YELE to 501501 to donate $5

Thank You.

Subject: Why Is Limbaugh Given FREE Radio Waves?

It's time to call your local radio stations and tell them you have had it with Limbaugh and how he politicizes everything in the world - including earthquakes!!

Why should his language clutter the FREE, regular radio waves?

Force his listeners to PAY to listen to hear him instead of clogging up the radio waves with his crap!!

Subject: Lessons to be Learned from the Haiti Crisis

The biggest problem was getting aid to destroyed areas with many roads, airports, docks, and hospitals destroyed, along with no personnel available to distribute and administer this help. Transportation was basically shut down. No mater how much was brought into certain areas, a means of distributing it to where it was needed did not exist. I have a suggested solution to these overwhelming problems that could have saved many lives and lessened the suffering of those surviving the initial earthquake.

Our government needs to take out of storage a suitable aircraft carrier with a large under deck area and large flight deck. Increase the size of the hospital area. The remaining deck below should be filled with supplies and equipment for like disasters. Helicopters will also be pre identified to fill the flight deck. Crews to operate the carrier, helicopters and all disaster crews will pre identified to report ASAP when needed.

Having a system like this on standby will save valuable time. Ready to go in hours, will arrive in the disaster area with no requirement for hospitals, airports, docks, staging area, infrastructure or transportation. It is all self contained with operating personnel ready to go. The helicopters taking out personnel, supplies and equipment will be able to return with injured people to a sophisticated on board hospital. Please, put pressure on Congress to accomplish this program.

Recommend that other major nations do the same. Who knows, we may also need help.

He did NOT say there were no differences, he said the differences were marginal and the Democrats were not willing to fight and did not fight for the differences...
