Subject: drug rehab for haggard before tues? cnn reports he ONLY spoke with w h staffers

that'll work for bush. put haggard in rehab before tues with no admission of gay sex. and have the media report, like cnn just did just now, that haggard only spoke with white house staffers not bush. protect bush at this point at all costs. pricks.

Subject: John Kerry's Gaffe

I think we would all be better off if we don't take the Kerry mistaken joke seriously. If it wasn't Kerry's comment, the GOP would have seized on some other democrat's comment in order to divide and conquer. This is their MO. They want to divert us from the terrible tragedy of all the people killed in Iraq and no clear way in sight to exit. We need to stay on message.

Kerry has done a lot for the democratic/progressive cause. He is not perfect. I don't want to see him run for president again. But I respect him and his contributions. Don't play the game the Repubs want us to play. They have no other ammunition; know how they operate.

Subject: Time To Make Noise

This Election Day, let's make history by challenging every "voter challenge," vote-flipping voting machine, "provisional ballot" (which according to Greg Palast, don't get counted) and other dirty tricks AT THE POLLING PLACES! Be ready to protest LOUDLY in big numbers. Take the fight for freedom right to the polls on Tuesday. This is our best opportunity!

Subject: Michael J. Fox Is Trying To Help Heal the Sick and Save Lives

Which is why he's publicly supporting a Missouri referendum on stem cell research. And, yes, in doing so he may be exploiting his own illness (Parkinson's disease) for political purposes, but since when is hitching one's illness to the betterment of humankind looked upon as anything other than a worthy and honorable deed? That's why a foundation that supports research in muscular dystrophy, for example, in its fund-raising usually features a poster-child. And nobody ever has censored a charitable foundation for such blatant "exploitation."

But opponents to stem-cell research claim that stem cells are human beings and that it's immoral to take one "life" in order to better or to lengthen someone else's life, so forget about stem cell research, and never mind that millions of real live people (with names and with families) will be denied the chance to obtain a new lease on life - "Forget it, what makes you advocates of stem cell research think your lives are more important than the "lives" of those nameless microscopic cells floating around in test-tubes?"

Well, it just so happens that in Michael Fox's judgment the lives of us real people, indeed, are more important than a single cell organism, whatever its theoretical potential. That's why he's supporting Missouri's referendum on stem cell research. And even if this amounts to "exploiting" one's illness for a political purpose, what better purpose than improving both the quality and quantity of life for all of us living people? Isn't this just the kind of exploitation that the world needs? Bravo, Michael J. Fox!

Subject: Mobilization for DC Occupation on November 8th

Ok Buzzflashians, patriots, lefties, and the true majority...what are we gonna due on November 8th after the theft of our democracy?

I see little plans for what actions are going to take place once it becomes clear they have stolen another election. Seems like lots of info from Buzz and the rest, but no leadership on the upcoming civil protest.

Here's some ideas. Ideas that need to get munched on and digested pronto.

1) 24 hour protest vigil at every county courthouse?

2) Immediate march and occupation of Washington DC Mall. Immediate marches and occupations of all State Capitol grounds. Including tents and food and folks to support the occupation.

3) Demand new election in 30 days via paper ballot.

4) General work strike and shopping strike.

5)Absolutely NO Christmas shopping if no new election is held. Make gifts folks, get real. Hitting the corporations in the pocket will actually work...think about it. Even China will pressure the Guv, or call in their debt.

Subject: Air America Sponsor Pull-Out

An internal memo leaked from ABC radio networks, obtained by Media Matters, reveals that a whole lot of companies did not want their ads to be run on Air America. An image of the actual memo contains the full list.

I’ve transcribed that list as best I could (one or two were unreadable), because everyone should know which companies/products apparently don’t want your business. I figure if I listen to Air America, and they don’t want me to hear their commercials, then they don’t want my business, and I’m more than happy to oblige.

Here they are:

Allstate American Heart Association, Aventis, Avon (all brands), Bank of America, Bayer (all brands), BMW Motorcycles, Carrier, Gold Bond First Aid, Gold Bond Foot Spray, Capsacin, Phisoderm, Selsun Salon, Ultimate Healing Lotion, Cigna, Cingular, Clorox, Coke, Col,y Dean’s Morningstar Foods, Dell, Denny’s, Discovery Channel, Eharmony.com, Epson, Expedia.com, Exxon Mobil, Farmers Insurance, Fedex, Foot Action, Frito Lay, GE, Gillette, Venus, Goodyear, Heinekin/Amstel Light, Hershey’s, Hewlett Packard, Home Depot, Hormel, Hyatt, JC Penney, Johnson & Johnson (all brands), Kohl’s Kraft Foods (all brands), Levis, Masterfoods USA (all brands), McDonald’s, Merial Frontline (flea and tick products), MGM, Michelin, Microsoft, Morningstar, National Cattleman’s Beef, Nestle, Nissan, NYSE, Office Depot, Outdoor Life Network, Proctor & Gamble (Bounty, Charmin Febreze, Iams Dog & Cat Food, Pepto Bismol), Paramount, Pepsi,Philip Morris, Pier One Imports, Red Lobster, ReMax, REI Sporting Goods, Rent-way, Robert Half, Schering Plough ESPYs, Schering Plough Tinactin, Sherwin Williams, Sony, State Farm, Toys R Us, Travelocity.com, True Value, United Health Care, US Navy, USPS (US Postal Service) Visa, Walgreens, Walmart, Welch’s, Wrigley, Wyeth

"President Bush warned Democrats not to celebrate too early. This is from the guy who put up the 'Mission Accomplished' sign three years ago." ---Jay Leno

"So far almost 2,800 American soldiers have been killed in Iraq. I say "almost 2,800" because there is no exact number. It changes by six or eight every day. That's how many of our young men get killed. And for what? Just tell us, Mr. President. For what? It hasn't even been good for Iraq; it certainly hasn't been good for us. The whole world thinks less of us for what we're doing there. This little war is costing us $2 billion a what? I forget, a day, a week, a minute? It's the kind of money I can't even imagine. " ---Andy Rooney

"I think it's important to note that nobody hates the troops more than decorated war hero John Kerry. We're all very, very lucky that we have draft-dodgers like George Bush and Dick Cheney to point that out to us." ---Jimmy Kimmel

Subject: Ted Haggard - Time to out the Night Warriors

Dear BuzzFlash:

The news of a gay tryst involving Ted Haggard, President of the National Association of Evangelicals, reminded of the chorus to the 1980’s hit song by Queen, Another One Bites the Dust:

Another one bites the dust
Another one bites the dust
And another one gone and another one gone
Another one bites the dust, eh
Hey, I'm gonna get you too
Another one bites the dust

There are plenty of ways that you can hurt a man
And bring him to the ground
You can beat him
You can cheat him
You can treat him bad and leave him
When he's down, yeah
But I'm ready, yes I'm ready for you
I'm standing on my own two feet
Out of the doorway the bullets rip
Repeating to the sound of the beat
Oh yeah

The Reverend Ted Haggard, a man who works every day to deprive millions of decent gays and lesbians of their civil right to a civil contract of personal commitment, is just another, despicable, hypocritical, self-loathing homophobe!

It’s time for those of us who are out in the gay community to stop protecting those who slither in and out of our world for one night stands, only to attack us by the light of day.

We owe it to each other to OUT these people and to stop the madness these Night Warriors perpetuate against us.

Subject: Cable News Prostitutes

While the public was ready to turn back to the important things like making a living, worrying about the war in Iraq and wondering how to pay for escalating health care the Clueless Cable News networks led incompetently as usual by CNN continued to bore us to tears with endless coverage of the John Kerry non-story. Note to cable news, John Kerry isn’t running for office in the mid-terms.

Doing their usual job as Administration Stenographers they went on and on and … Boring. Most people changed the channel to House Hunters or reruns of Stargate rather than listen to more of nothing.

What is so amusing is that we folks out here in the fly-over know that Bush manages to step on his tongue every time he opens his mouth. If all those insulting mistakes were placed end to end we could ship them to Alaska and not have to pay millions for Ted Stevens little gift to his greedy constituents known as the “Bridge to Nowhere.”

While cable news pimps Sean Hannity, Bill O’Reilly and numerous CNN administration prostitutes blather on and on, the rest of America has already moved on.

We worry about the incompetence of a government that posts nuclear information on a web site, sends a Military Dog Handler convicted of abuses at Abu Ghraib back to Iraq to, wait for this, train Iraqi police, and the fact that 5 more Americans died in Iraq on Thursday. But no, we are subjected to endless rhetoric about what John Kerry said when he opened his mouth and put in his foot.

For quite some time the administration managed to mislead a significant portion of the population that have now begun to see through the fog of obfuscation. Either the Cable Networks are clueless as to what really is news or they are trying to Swift-boat the Democratic Party just before the mid-term elections.

Clueless or evil, you decide. I’m going for a little of both.

Subject: Apologies???

I am now sick to death of the wimpy democrats and their complete kneeling down to the arrogant dumb-assed republicans. Before Bush and Cheney and Rummy...and all the other ignorant republicans leave the town of DC... I would like for anyone...A Democrat...a reporter with balls...or anyone else...to ask what I will never get close enough to ask!

Mr. Bush...right in his face...What war on terra are you discussing...what war do you constantly say that the democrats have no plan for...you say that all the time...Mr. Bush...you and every other ignorant republican in this town. That is always your comeback..."They do not have an answer as to what they would do." Well, jerks....Ii can tell you why. They did not start this invasion....yes, INVASION of a sovereign nation...for greed...for oil...for everything but peace...We have messed their country up so badly...when Saddam was there, they had 23-24 hours of electricity a day...now they are lucky to have 2 hours. We have killed from most counts...close to 700 thousand of them... they are innocents...we are the aggressor...we are the invaders...and we will never be greeted as liberators...because we had no intention of doing anything but what we did...we did a land grab that gave us their oil...that is all we wanted (for that, we killed that many?)

I am sick to death of every democrat in DC because they have a $165,000 yearly salary, which they will retire with...and benefits for the princes, health coverage...for the rest of their natural lives...just back down like pussycats and wuss around and apologize. They do not even know what about...just if George does not like it and if Rush does not like it...I must apologize...and Kerry is the worst! Many of them, the democrats, did not even vote for the war...why don't they have the guts to stand up and say to the nitwit...prez..."Hey...what war you talkin 'about, Jerkass?"

There is no war on Terra...after 6 years...surely you know that...we know that...! Sometimes it bothers me to think that those of us out here, see through it...and they do not!

Subject: Not So Fast Democrats

A tidbit of advice for Democrats if they gain the majority in either or both houses:

They have one term to make this country a lot better. Huh? If they can’t undo the mess Bush has taken 6 years to get the country into, unstable voters will vote them out in the following election. No, it wouldn’t be fair to judge democrats on one term and a heavy workload, but voters {thanks to Bush and his do nothing congress} have grown impatient. The democrats would have to rectify all of the wrongs of Bush with hair-trigger swiftness.

It is a monumental task considering one term, but they’ve got to do it... Iraq, Afghanistan, National Debt, the real economy, Trade Deficits, Social Security, Medicare, Medical Insurance, Prescription Drugs, Outsourcing Jobs, Minimum Wage, Port Security, Paper trail voting and many more ills. Democrats will need to put all of them on the table, roll up their sleeves and keep Americans informed on their progress on all of the many problems they will have inherited.

Subject: Justice

There is much talk and debate about what to do in Iraq. Sadly, it is too little too late for the most part. We can not go back and correct those dire mistakes that were made in 2002 and 2003 in the run up to the war. Indeed, even finding the truth behind the lies that were foisted on us by our governments will not help the situation on the ground in Iraq; the best result of any investigation would be that we, the people of the world, will discover the basis for those responsible for the chaos their lies have wrought in the country that once was Iraq and the needless slaughter of tens of thousands of innocent souls to be brought before the bar and have justice served on them for their crimes.

For crimes they were. Senseless murder and havoc foisted on the world by men whose only desire was for power and wealth. Yes, we would discover that.

Then we would be faced with a decision that we would shrink from at our peril; do we obfuscate the truth and give these criminals a pass and a slap on the wrist, or do we take them to task for their crimes and impose the judgment of the world court on them for war crimes and wanton murder?

They must all be stripped of power, their blood profit confiscated and their punishment severe. The world will be watching and our commitment to justice and the rule of law will be on display for all to see.

If we fail in our duty to ensure that justice is served on these despicable criminals who would use lies to immerse their countries in an illegal war, then we deserve to be judged as every bit the criminals they are, for we will indeed take on our souls the responsibility for their crimes, and rightly so. No action that we can take will bring back the husbands, wives, children and other family members of the innocent in Iraq; no action that we take will comfort the fathers and mothers, brothers, sisters and friends of the brave young men and women who have died in battle.

Our leaders tell us that we should not demean the memory of those of our countrymen that have volunteered to serve their countries by ‘leaving before the job is done.’ In truth, the fallen will not be truly honored until the perpetrators of this lie have been brought to justice for their crimes. Only by bringing those ‘leaders’ to the bar will those fallen in battle be vindicated for what, until that time, must be regarded as having died for a lie.

Only when the world sees that we are a nation of compassion and justice meted out evenly regardless of office or station in life will we regain our moral standing in the world. Only then will it be justified to say of our dead in this illegal war that they indeed died to further truth and justice.
