Subject: Kerry's comments

While I do think John Kerry speaks with his foot in his mouth, the president usually has both feet in his mouth and we hardly hear any media backlash.

For the wingers to scream what an insult it is to the soldiers for Kerry's remarks, I never heard a peep out of any of them when they insulted and demeaned every person that has ever served in the military with their despicable display of the bandage with the purple heart they seemed so proud to show off at the Republican convention.

For John McCain to have the nerve to speak out against Kerry, while he sat there silently as the GOP demeaned every soldier that has earned a purple heart, is the typical GOP party-before-country attitude. All former and current military persons should be screaming at these UN-American, disloyal and hypocritical so-called patriots.

Subject: Update on the Bush Visit to Sugarland Texas

Here is a quick update on the Bush visit to Sugarland Texas.

Bush jets into Ellington Field in Houston at taxpayer expense. He then jumps on a Marine Helicopter at taxpayer expense to fly to a small regional airport that is much too tiny for Air Force One to land at. Around 1,500 rabid Republicans greet the President in a hanger. No one else had a chance to attend the event because it was the standard GOP "You must have a ticket passed out by the Texas GOP to enter." Around 100 protestors braved the heat, humidity and mosquitoes to protest along the state highway that runs in front of the airport. Bush never saw them. Here are the lowlites from the speech:

“The best way to make sure an enemy is unable to do us harm is to stay on offense. It is hard to plot, plan and attack when you’re on the run.”

"I saw a threat in Saddam Hussein ... I made the right decision against Saddam Hussein.”

“The only way we won’t succeed in Iraq is by leaving before the job is done,” he said. And as for the Democrats, “It’s a serious political party in the midst of a war, and they don’t have a plan for success. They don’t have a plan for victory.”

“Their approach comes down to this -- the terrorists win and America loses,” President Bush said as the partisan crowd booed loudly. “I’m not saying the Democrats are unpatriotic. I’m just saying they’re wrong.”

Strangely enough, Bush spent half his speech talking about Iraq while Sekula-Gibbs has pretty much avoided the topic during her campaign appearances.

But then again, this taxpayer-funded junket really wasn't about the write-in candidate with the unspellable name. It was about tossing some raw meat to some of Bush's most reactionary supporters in Texas.

Subject: Same in Canada

In Canada, believe it or not, we care and have to care about how our neighbours manifest democracy.

A point I can not understand, no matter what your political stripe is, collectively, the US population was misled, hoodwinked. It does not matter if you are democrat, republican or independent. You were all led down the path equally. Possibly that is the new democracy eh? Everyone lied to as one. Not by democrats or republicans - by the leader(s).

I am sure I will be maligned and told to keep my nose out of your business except that your presence is my business. I have a bunch of good US friends and know of quite a bit of effort on your part that is very noteworthy. Your recent RGGI is a really good case in point when compared to our flimsy Clean Air Act. Pitiful on our part. In fact, we up here are cringing given our puny leader's efforts to establish himself as a big guy. He's big in girth only and shallow above the shoulders.

I sincerely hope your upcoming elections will be held up as democracy in action. But all I see is non-issue-based invective that means little to anything past next month.

A great nation should act as more than fibbing, back stabbing meanies. Your troops are being killed, as are ours, for what I am not sure. It certainly is not a war. It's a very expensive police action.

Stop the lies. Bring some smarts to the table and the rest of us will follow.

Subject: Ending up where you are heading

There's an old saying that if you don't change course you might end up where you're heading. Think about that when you vote on November 7th.

Subject: Mike Is Back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is it possible to splash a headline that Mike Malloy is back? He's on a new network called Nova-M. Our democracy is still alive!!!!!! I feel it!!!!! We're going to win this election!!!

Take that you brain-dead neo-con ditto heads!!

Subject: Independent view

I don't feel hopeful, mainly because our media will call anyone who questions this upcoming Republican coup a "nutcase." No wonder Bu$h mocks the Democrats and gets cheers and laughter from the Republican side in this civil war he has declared on Democrats. He knows the theft is in place. No wonder he says, "I believe I am going to be working with a Republican Congress and Republican Senate." He believes it because it is all in the bag. I am Independent and I will vote Dem because I would rather be run over by a train than vote Republican, but I am afraid we are going to have those bums in power for the rest of my life. I am in my fifties.

Mounds, OK

Subject: Gun Control

Herein lies my problem. I am a fiscal conservative and a social liberal. Actually, a Republican. I am with you on almost all of the issues except this one. This is where the Democratic party alienates so many of us who would really vote democratic. Lay off gun control. It has driven many people away from the Democratic party.

The only thing that keeps this government off of our backs (republican or democrat) is the fact that we are a well armed public willing and able to defend ourselves from government. This is the one issue that will destroy any chance of the Democrats gaining some control and balance at the federal level. Give this issue up or pay the electoral price.

Subject: Bush in Iraq

The Bush administration has never been "stay the course." All you hippie dope smokers misunderstood him. What he has actually been saying is: "Stay the curse."
