Subject: Washington's Governor is sure Huckabee "deeply regrets" his decision of clemency for cop killer

I don't think Washington's Governor knows our Huck very well. In the years he was Governor here, I doubt if he has ever regretted anything other than missed opportunities to loot the taxpayers or attack the Clintons and Democrats.

Subject: It's Crunch Time, Progressives, And We Have But Four Options

The first option being that we continue to trust in President Obama's making going good on his promise of change we can believe in, but for most of us choosing this option would be on the order of fool me once it's your fault, fool me twice it's my fault. The second option is that we support candidates (regardless of their party affiliation) in the 2010 & 2012 elections who promise that, if elected, they'll push for, among other things, troops out now, demilitarization, Medicare for all, getting serious about reversing global warming, full employment, nationalization of banking & finance.

The problem with this option is that, if nothing else, recent elections have taught us that after being elected candidates don't keep their promises. The third option is that we abandon the political arena and go the think globally, act locally route. The problem here is that despite whatever advances are made locally, there's no averting doomsday unless something's done about perpetual wars, global warming and the economic meltdown. Which leaves us with the 4th option, namely, that we rise up en masse and change the world, such that, there's peace on earth and goodwill to all living beings. And so, progressives, with these as our only options, which will it be?

Subject: Obama Keeps Another Campaign Promise -- And The Crowd Goes Wild!

My fellow Americans, in the words of Judge Judy, you don’t have your listening ears on. I have said before that during the 2008 Presidential campaign, there were those who listened to what Barack Obama said…and those who simply covered or reported what Barack Obama said.

People on the left are losing their collective minds because President Obama is authorizing more troops to be sent to Afghanistan. Is it me or is President Obama doing exactly what Candidate Obama said he would do…finish the job in Afghanistan.

There was no confusion, no misconception, no “dithering”. For almost 2 years during the campaign, Obama repeatedly said that the “war of necessity” in Afghanistan was recklessly abandoned to fight the “war of choice” in Iraq; that Afghanistan was the right war that we should be fighting, that Afghanistan was where those who killed over 3,000 Americans on September 11 were being harbored…and if my memory serves me correctly, it was consistently one of his better applause lines.

Now either these people didn’t listen to what he said or they were just clapping because Barack Obama was moving his mouth and they were in the room.

He didn’t lie. He’s doing exactly what he said he would do throughout the campaign and now some Democrats and liberals on the left (politicians and media pundits included) are having a hissy fit and asking “has Obama forgotten his base?” No, but I think the liberal base has forgotten that not everything is about them!

It’s very interesting to me that with this new President, so many people now think that their particular cause is the MOST important thing on Earth. Gays and lesbians think President Obama should deal with gay marriage first, Hispanics think that Obama should deal with immigration first, African-Americans think that he should focus on affirmative action issues first…and if he doesn’t then they don’t think he’s doing a good job (and the deadly approval rating goes down…ooh!). What we all have to come to grips with is that as much as some people would like to think that Barack Obama is their own personal best friend, he is the President of the United States and he is the President for EVERYONE, not just Blacks or Gays or Hispanics…or Democrats (who have their own set of problems).

I strongly believe that there are those who supported Barack Obama’s ‘ideas’…and those who supported the ‘idea’ of Barack Obama. Whether it was because he was Black or young or hip or athletic or Democrat or whatever, I think many people fell in love with the idea of having this man as President rather than with the ideas this man would implement as President…thus the mass hysteria on the left when President Obama does exactly what Candidate Obama said he would do!

I think for having not even been in office a full year yet, the President has done a good job…especially with the huge mess that awaited him upon his arrival (i.e. 2 wars, global recession, banking/stock market failures, auto industry implosion, record unemployment, huge deficits, home foreclosure crisis, swine flu epidemic, Iran, North Korea, Russia, China, etc.--and not to mention that pretty much everyone around the world hated us).

People let over 8 years go by (6 of those barely asking any questions) to help get us in the hole we are in now, and now they won’t even let Barack Obama have one year to try to get us out. My belief is this. Not everything is black and white and not every problem has only one solution. Sometimes, if we close our mouths and open our ears, we may just hear what we don’t understand…or at least understand what we hear!

Subject: Wherever People Are Struggling For Their Freedom & Independence We Progressives Must Support Them

"No matter if they're struggling against our own government?"

"Especially then."

"Why especially?"

"Because what our government does in our name becomes our responsibility."

"What if insurrectionists in, say, Afghanistan, actually defeat the military that our government has sent there as occupiers?"

"The best thing that could happen to America, especially if there's no bloodshed."

"Bloodless resistance, but how?"

"The resistance shifts entirely to nonviolence."

"And why would a U.S. military defeat be so beneficial here at home?"

"With the military returning home in disgrace, the glow would be off all things military, such that, should our government try to trick us into another war, who'd pay attention to these gung ho retired generals that Fox TV puts on the air as some sort of experts on warfare? What's more a defeat would render the call for demilitarization irrisistable."

"Based on?"

"What happened in 1982 when a fascist military government in Argentina made the mistake of going to war again Great Britain over the Falkland Islands and was soundly defeated."

"Argentina was soundly defeated, such that, within a year of its defeat, its fascist junta had fallen, with the military's prestige suffering a free fall from which it has yet to recover."

"What was good for Argentina will be good for America?"
