Subject: Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont

To hear Republicans speak badly of Bernie Sanders' insistence that funds be provided to community health clinics as a condition for his support for the Senate HCR bill is so revealing of the mean spirit that predominates in the Republican Party today. Here is a man who could have asked for and gotten just about anything he wanted and he asked for help for community health clinics - not just for his state - but all across the country.

These clinics provide medical assistance to the least privileged amongst us. They don't have a powerful lobby to represent them in Washington. This man is a hero for people in every state and Vermonters are so fortunate to have his representation in the senate. I would like to express my sincere thanks both to the Senator and to the people of Vermont for having the wisdom to elect him. A Senator that the entire country can be proud of.

Go Bernie!

Subject: "Morning Joe" putdown

After listening to Joe Scarborough on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" and his gaggle of right-wing blowhards talk ONLY about the money the health care reform bill will cost, I had to dash off the following to the program:

"You people on "Morning Joe" are only showing how cold and impersonal you are by babbling on and on about the money used to get the health care bill through instead of giving one damn about the people the heath care reform bill is going to help. You all are a bunch of greedy uncaring Republican bastards and you all are too dumb to see or care about the real Americans in this country.

You think you know so much. You don't know squat. What the polls are NOT telling you is over 90% of ALL Americans want a health reform bill. The reason the polls show a majority of people don't like the Democrat health care reform bill is because of people like yourselves who have spent every single day talking about how much money it is going to cost instead of how the bill will give 30 million Americans health care.

Get off your money high horses and talk to real people not beltway insiders."

Subject: Where Have All The Young Progressives Gone?

Left the struggle so very many of them

When will they be back

When will they be back

They'll be back when jobs dry up and the going gets tough

Jobs dry up, the going gets tough

They'll be back when they're mad as hell and can't take it no more

Mad as hell, can't take it no more

They'll be back in time to help turn the tide our way

The tide our way, the tide our way

And for their having had such perfect timing we'll be ever grateful to them

Grateful to them, grateful to them

Subject: bread and circuses

The more I hear about the hullabaloo surrounding the health care reform, the more I am thinking 'bread and circuses'. Both sides are shooting themselves and each other in the foot, there are rumors and contradicting reporting everywhere, and the bill is so complicated that no one can really tell what it does. I am beginning to think both parties are in cahoots to kill this bill. Neither party really wants it in any form. What they do want is to be able to accuse the other party of killing it. The republicans will say it was the dems over reaching and spending too much money. The dems will claim that the republicans stonewalled and killed the bill. Most of us will have our opinion but it won't matter, no bill will be passed that does anything but hand the insurance companies, more and more money.
