Barbara's Daily BuzzFlash Minute A collection of insightful ruminations, reflections, and rants on the events of the day (with the exception of the weekend). Come visit each weekday to see what's pushing Barbara's buttons. December 15, 2005 * * * George Bush knows who disclosed the identity of Valerie Plame and leaked her name to the press, so says the man who started it all, Bob Novak! After all the bravado, after all the posturing, after all the “refusing to comment on an ongoing investigation” and we find out Bush knows who outed Plame---George Bush could have ended this whole mess a long time ago, it’s obvious his silence is an admission that he knows laws have been broken, and prosecution is a probability, but he’s willing to protect whoever it may be, no matter what. And just who was it that Bob Woodward was talking to in the summer of 2003? Uhh, exactly who was it that Woodward interviewed for his book “Plan of Attack”? Who could have been talking to him in a “gossipy kind of way,” as Woodward would have us believe? How many people were in a position to know about Plame, who would have found this to be an “item” for reporters, who really wanted to get Joe Wilson for telling the truth to the American people, who is known to be a “payback” kind of guy? Who is it that uses the press for all manner of propaganda? Hmmm, I wonder! * * * Even the dullest among us has got to realize, “America we have a problem,” when the Army is calling up reservists who are 43 and 56 year old women! Now I know George Bush isn’t concerned so long as it’s not his daughters, his wife, or his mother being sent to serve in a war zone, but don’t you think a little consideration is vital, especially when a single mother and a lady old enough to be a grandmother are forced to serve? When we keep hearing about progress, support the troops, and all the rest of the yada coming out of this administration and then to find out middle-aged women are being sent to fight in this debacle called war, it’s insane, it is beyond reason, beyond imagination, beyond comprehension. Chicken-hawk, chickenshit, Repuglicans are sending middle-aged women to fight in a preemptive unnecessary war where soldiers and innocent people are being killed everyday, God help us all! * * * "Mr. Bush has stapled all these admissions to an emphatic statement that he did the right thing in going to war. On Monday, answering a question, he said 'Knowing what I know now, I would make the same decision to invade.'" In other words, an in-your-face admission that no matter what the law is, it’s his to break!!! Knowing that invading Iraq simply to oust its leader and effect a regime change was against international law, knowing that there were no Weapons of Mass Destruction, knowing that Saddam Hussein was not an imminent threat, knowing that thousands of innocent Iraqis would die, knowing that more than 2100 and still counting American soldiers would die, knowing that over 15,000 American soldiers would suffer life altering injuries, knowing that Iraq would become a quagmire of death and destruction, a breeding ground for more terrorists, a recruiting bonanza for Al Qaeda, knowing that the world would be a more dangerous place -- and George Bush says he’d do it all anyway. This inane rigid posturing does not reflect a great leader; it's further proof that George Bush is a moron, an inept, incompetent bully who really has no concern for, what he’s stated as a “goddamned piece of paper,” the Constitution of the United States of America. I’m not surprised, this has been his attitude all his life, he believes he’s entitled to do what ever he wants, whenever he wants, to get what he wants, no matter what it takes or who he steps on to get it! * * * “BUSH: We are in Iraq today because our goal has always been more than the removal of a brutal dictator. It is to leave a free and democratic Iraq in its place.” Uhhh, and I thought it was to eliminate the imminent threat of Weapons of Mass Destruction, foolish me! How many reasons will Bush come up with to explain the reasons he made such a humongous mistake? How many reasons will he come up with to avoid being prosecuted for crimes against humanity? How many more lies must we endure before Americans recognize the fact that the man endangering our future and our children’s future is a moron, a bully, an incompetent twit, a spoiled brat who has never born responsibility for any of his failures? Rather than a “God bless America,” thanks to Bush, it is now, “God help America”!!!! * * * “BUSH: So we are helping the Iraqi people build a lasting democracy that is peaceful and prosperous, and an example for the broader Middle East. The terrorists understand this. And that is why they have now made Iraq the central front in the war on terror.” Err, wasn’t that you, George Bush who invaded Iraq, thus making it possible for the terrorists to even be in Iraq? Saddam Hussein didn’t allow terrorists such as Osama bin Laden and Al Qaeda to set foot in Iraq. You, George Bush, are responsible for making that little bit of terrorism possible! * * * “And we have listened to those who know best, our military commanders …” so says George Bush, but in truth you’ve only “listened” to those military commanders who agree with you, in fact you fired the military commanders who gave you the best advice and told you exactly what would happen as a result of a preemptive, unnecessary invasion! As has been more than evident, the strategies you chose to follow have resulted in the chaos and confusion, the death and destruction, and the incompetence that is occurring in Iraq today! Reality has a way of coming back to bite, no matter how many times you attempt to paint a “we’re making progress” picture. Unfortunately it’s biting our sons and daughters, our soldiers, and the untold thousands of innocent Iraqi citizens, while you’re out and about vacationing, riding your bike, giving photo-op speeches, making jokes and intimidating those who should be telling America the truth! * * * |
