Subject: What Do You Want?

On edge about indictments? Can't take the excitement? Think the pop two are going to bring down the whole crew?

Think again.

I'm hoping Fitzgerald goes for an extension, with the new Italian revelations of the forged documents. The CIA gave them a pass. White House Iraq Group (WHIG) and Office of Special Plans (OSP - Department of Defense) lapped them up. Kids, I think we should let Fitzgerald continue until he finds who placed the documents.

Did WHIG pay the Italians to create forged documents? Who did the forgery? Was American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) involved? ... How deep does this go? Who really created the veneer of a reason for war?

If this stops with Libby and Rove, we all lose from a superficial victory. We have a rare opportunity to learn a real truth for once. We didn't get it with the Warren Commission, or with RFK, MLK or 911.

Let us curb our enthusiasm and press to get to the bottom of this. With Rove and Libby, we only whisk away the scum at the top of the glass.

Subject: What I Saw on My Trip Through the US Code

As anyone who reads this site is aware, our media and government have a highly selective view of the law as it applies to the Bush regime. We are told that the leaking of Valerie Plame's name would only be a crime if she were undercover at the time of the revelation. We are told that torture can be authorized or redefined.

Having become somewhat cynical of what we are being fed, I decided to have a look for myself at the US Code:

Here's what I found:

Subject: Re Re: "Republicans Ask Oil Industry For Help With Fuel Prices"

After their sick energy plan with its pork for oil companies and power companies, Republicans ask "will you pleaze help the little people with their terrible cost?" They are evidently doing it because they are afraid they will get kicked out of office next year after receiving 80 percent of the money contributed by energy companies to politicians. The energy companies are gouging the American people and getting away with it, while reporting record profits. Sorry Repugs, you have done way too much damage to the country.

Subject: Bushevism

Reminiscent of the Soviet Union’s march westward into Europe to spread communism (Bolshevism) by force after WWII, is the United States’ march into Iraq to democratize the Middle East by force (Bushevism).

Communist governments were not tolerant to opposition. Opponents were sent to the Gulag comparable to Bushevism’s Guantanamo, which Patriot Act’s broad definition of a terrorist can send anyone into. Both deny prisoners humanitarian services.

Communism banned all religion while Bushevism‘s fundamentalist Christianity (25% of population) is forced down America’s throat.

In Russia’s Gulag, inhumane treatment was routine, while for Guantanamo and Abu Ghraib, Bushevism’s Attorney General revisited law, to allow for inhumane treatment.

Communist media was state owned. In Bushevism media might just as well be state owned. Commercial TV, religious TV and numerous major newspapers, are owned by Bushevists.

There are increasingly fewer players in the media which results in less diversity, and censorship, as political interests do not allow certain topics to be covered. Freedoms democracy entitles, can easily be subject to and facilitate perverse ideology and effectively transmute homogeneous into heterogeneous society.

A vociferous, analytical and independent press is an integral part of successful democracy, for they are the guardians, which keep it in tact.

Usurping power using wealth corrupts democracy, renders it ineffectual, and democracy as originally intended ceases to be.

The Patriot Act and money have given the administration unprecedented powers and rendered the people’s Congress useless.

It is ironic, but capitalism is facilitating a system not unlike Communism.

Subject: More Problems, The Air Force Academy

The Air Force Academy already rocked by scandals of sexual assaults on female cadets and religious bigotry and coercion now can add racism to its list of problems.

Air Force football coach Fisher DeBerry who has been there 22 years blamed his team's poor performance on not having enough black players because, "It just seems to be that way, that Afro-American kids can run very, very well."

This is the same coach who caused a firestorm last year when "He hung a banner in the locker room that read in part "I am a member of Team Jesus Christ" a day after the academy's superintendent announced the school would do more to fight religious intolerance."

So here we have a history of sexual harassment and assaults combined with racism all rolled up under the radical right's version of Christianity. Why am I not surprised? This dangerous marriage of Christian extremism/fundamentalism with the radical right has infested our government at all levels and the Academy is just one of the many boils this pox has inflicted on America.

Subject: Christ Jesus and George Bush

George W. Bush stood there with the wind blowing in his face, bewildered, trying to figure out where he was. The last thing he remembered was being on Air Force I. Then a bright flash and ... nothing, until now.

As he stood, he noticed a Stranger off in the distance. He nervously approached the Stranger. The Stranger turned and George Bush saw inexplicably solemn eyes piercing his soul. "Excuse me" said George Bush, "Could you please tell me where I am?" The Stranger answered nothing. Just stood looking at him for what seemed an eternity.

As George Bush gazed at the stranger, slowly it began to dawn on him Who this might be. "Are You ... are You Jesus Christ?" SLowly with a Voice that rang of Majesty, the Stranger answered, "My sheep know My voice, I call, and they answer." Shockwaves rocketed through George W. Bush as he realized this just indeed might be "The Son of God."

George Bush was disturbed by the infinitely solemn Majesty but angry expression on the Face of this One. "What have you to say for how you lived your life, George W. Bush?" asked Christ. "Well ... We fought an incredible war on Terrorism!" said George Bush. "After all, I am the commander in chief and president of the Greatest Nation on the face of the earth!" he added, hoping to impress this Holy One who still stood silently watching him, saying nothing.

Christ waved his hand, and before George Bush appeared a mass of suffering humanity that he had caused. George Bush looked, and in the blazing brilliance of Christ's Light he saw little children starving, suffering, shivering next to the bodies of dead parents and a bombed out house. The Stranger now had a stern, Holy fierce look now staring at George W. Bush with eyes of fire.

"Yes ... well I was trying to STOP that sort of thing by Fighting Terrorism your majesty," George Bush whimpered. "After all, you yourself said you didn't come to bring peace but a sword." George Bush looked hopefully at this One, hoping he was being convincing.

"You did NOT read MY words adequately George Bush." Then the Blazing One in His Brilliance stated further, "Did I not say also say that there would be those that would kill in MY Name thinking that they were doing the will of God, but THAT THEY DID NOT KNOW ME?" Now on Christ's Face was a Holy Look of Fury.

George W. Bush attempted another justification."Your Honor, Your Highness, sir, I confessed You before the whole World! Doesn't that count for something?" NOW Christ's Voice thundered, "Why call ye ME Lord Lord and Do Not Do What I say?"

"Whatever do you mean? Lord?" George Bush pleaded, "I ran on the Christian ticket, I ran on Family values, I ran as a compassionate conservative ... I drew ATTENTION to your Holy Name and addressed the needs of the people."

In answer, the Blazing Hand of the Stranger with the compelling Eyes swept the air as a Holy Look of Infinite Compassion and Sorrow crossed His Majestic Face. There, before George W. Bush, appeared EVERY SINGLE HUMAN BEING who EVER suffered and died while George W. Bush carried the title of "Governor" and "President." Every single person, whether they were prisoners on Death Row, Iraqi, Afghanistani, American Soldier, or average everyday ordinary person. There before George Bush were the faces of men, women, children, and infants who were no longer on the earth because of him.

The Stranger spoke now in a low Voice with Holy Anger." When I was hungry, you gave Me nothing to eat. When I was naked, you did not clothe ME. When I thirsted, you gave Me nothing to drink. When I was sick and in prison, you did not visit ME. As you have done to the least of these, SO YOU HAVE DONE TO ME!"

"What are you talking about?" cried George W. Bush, now in a panic. "I ... I ... I ... confessed you before men, I gave vouchers to private Christian Schools, I flew over hurricane victims to let them know I could see them ... I ... I ... I ..."

"Get away from ME you EVIL doer! I NEVER KNEW YOU!" stated the Solemn Majestic One as He again Waved His Hand and George W. Bush was ushered in to stand before the Most High over all......

Subject: The Get Out Of Iraq Initiative Is Building In Congress

Up to 5 congressmen from North Carolina (2 of them Republicans) now are united in calling for President Bush to start a withdrawal of American troops. Now Reps. David Price and Brad Miller have joined in with their own new resolution.

Those Reps in NC now calling for a withdrawal and an exit plan include: Mel Watt, David Price, Brad Miller, Howard Coble, Walter Jones.

Note the change in opinion in the article for both Price & Miller from just two months ago. The local NPR state news indicated it was because of pressure from their constituents that caused the change in opinion. A sure sign that if we speak loud enough we can be heard. Now I've got to get on the ball and try and help get Etheridge on board.

Also the Rep. Lynn Woolsey resolution calling for a withdraw plan failed 300-128, but that 128 is up from 32 which is how many it got the first time she attempted a similar resolution in January. A sign that progress is being made. Slowly the support for this disaster is eroding.

Subject: Storm Power Outages

Isn't it time to ask why the electric power industry doesn't bury the power lines and thus greatly improve the service's endurance during a storm, whether it's a hurricane or an ice storm? I don't see natural gas lines strung up on poles. Unfortunately, I've known people who were killed when they came into contact with high-voltage wires on overhead poles. Burial won't make them entirely safe, of course, but safety would improve, and so would reliability.

Subject: Keep Bush away from Poland. Please!

Dear Ethan, in response to your (well-intentioned, no doubt) suggestion that Mr. Bush should move to Poland, I'd kindly say: Not until hell freezes over.

Poland has enough problems as it is without adding such a major pain in the ... er, neck as Mr. Bush.

I'm Polish (well, transplanted to U.S.) and I can assure you that I'm puzzled by the polls showing that W. has widespread support in Poland. I keep wondering where they found these misguided souls to poll and whether indeed those responders understood the matter in question.

Granted, Poles have a long-standing affinity for the US and all things American -- but Bush ain't one of them.

So thanks, but no thanks. You keep him.

(Actually, we can't wait for you to get rid of him -- but this is your problem. Speaking of which: What's taking you so long?!)

With best wishes (for W-free future),

Elizabeth

Subject: Lack of U.S. government assistance for your trapped relatives and other Americans in Mexico vs. Special help for Osama bin Laden's family & House of Saud family after 9/11

It is more than interesting that on September 13, 2001, President George W. Bush met with his close friend, Prince Bandar, Saudi Arabia's ambassador to the U.S., in the White House. Did they discuss the safety of more than 140 family members and associates of the royal House of Saud and of Osama bin Laden that were here in the United States? Did they finalize the plans for their secret departure from the U.S.?

We do know that while all U.S. aircraft were grounded, extraordinary arrangements, including assistance from the FBI, were made to evacuate them to Saudi Arabia.
