When he is not playing golf, Donald Trump is performing as the bombastic ringmaster of a circus of cruelty and distraction. Meanwhile, the oldest president in history, Jimmy Carter, is building houses for the poor, along side his wife, Rosalynn.

The Carters have long constructed houses working with Habitat for Humanity, which “helps build homes for those in need around the world.” While most ex-presidents take advantage of their fame and “brand” to become extremely wealthy, Carter has focused on his work with The Carter Center, based in Atlanta:

The Carter Center, in partnership with Emory University, is guided by a fundamental commitment to human rights and the alleviation of human suffering. It seeks to prevent and resolve conflicts, enhance freedom and democracy, and improve health.

Carter has personally been an observer at many elections throughout the world to try and ensure the integrity of the voting process. With that experience in mind, Carter just this past June, according to CNN and other news outlets, “suggested that a full investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election would show that Donald Trump didn't win the presidency.”

He has also has written several books, including “Palestine: Peace Not Apartheid,” which was widely ignored by the mainstream media because it argued that Israel needs to recognize Palestinian rights and a separate Palestinian state.

Carter, in the past years, has made a miraculous recovery from melanoma that had metastasized to his brain. However, a combination of traditional radiation, chemotherapy and experimental advanced immunotherapy appears to have resulted in a prolonged remission. Recovering from hip surgery a few months ago, he was ready to resume his work building homes for those who cannot afford them in the conventional real estate market.

His plans for assisting in housing construction with Habitat are ambitious. According to Shared,

A spokeswoman for the Carter Center revealed that the former President, along with his wife, former first lady Rosalynn Carter, is going to build 21 new homes in Nashville, Tennessee, in October. “There have been many times when people have tried to count President Carter out, and they have never been right. We are excited that they will both be back," said Bryan Thomas, a spokesman for Habitat for Humanity International….

Carter who has volunteered for Habitat for Humanity for over three decades will help build houses in the Park Preserve neighborhood of Nashville along with future Habitat homeowners and other volunteers. Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter have helped build more than 4,300 homes in 14 countries since 1984. Prior to breaking his hip [three months ago] the former President had last worked in the 2018 Carter Work Project in Mishawaka, Indiana.

The Carters have been married for more than 73 years, after coming to know each other in the one-horse town of Plains, Georgia. It was around their 70th anniversary that Carter was diagnosed with four brain tumors — and they thought that he would not survive.

Now we have a “chickenhawk”president who avoided service in Vietnam, and bragged that avoiding STD’s from his numerous sexual liaisons was more dangerous than fighting in a war. Carter graduated from the US Naval Academy, served under the legendary Admiral Rickover on nuclear submarines, and was honorably discharged from the Naval Reserves with the rank of Lieutenant in 1961. At that time, he took over the running of the family’s peanut farm in Plains.

In 2002, Carter was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. The Nobel Committee cited “his decades of untiring effort to find peaceful solutions to international conflicts"

Meanwhile, Trump, who claimed that he was going to hunker down at Camp David to monitor Hurricane Dorian was found sneaking away to golf at one of his private clubs in Virginia, helicoptered there on Marine One at our expense.
