Trump Is Guilty of Criminally Negligent Homicide and Should Be Prosecuted: Leroy Knohl for BuzzFlash

December 7, 2020

Donald Trump is guilty of criminally negligent homicide. (White House)

By Leroy Knohl

Trump was briefed in the beginning of 2020; he knew that the Coronavirus was deadly, as Bob Woodward taped him admitting while he was underplaying it publicly.  Yet his actions failed to respond to its threat: instead he kept saying it is like the flu; it would “magicallly” disappear.

As a result of his inaction and obstruction, Trump is guilty of criminally negligent homicide.

What is the crime of negligent homicide?  “Negligent homicide is a criminal charge brought against a person who, through criminal negligence, allows another person to die.”  What is criminal negligence?  “Criminally negligent homicide occurs when the perpetrator acts in a reckless, dangerous, or negligent manner which causes the death of another person.”

But Trump’s crime is far worse: he not only failed to take actions to combat the virus, he took active steps to frustrate those trying to mitigate this deadly threat.  He called it a “hoax.”  He belittled masks and weaponized them, when wearing a mask has been a critical preventative action that would have lowered the infection and death rate.  He proclaimed “Liberate Michigan” at a time lockdowns are needed to slow COVID progression.  He staged large gatherings, often super spreader events, when the experts warned us against them.

His actions led those who follow his lead to recklessly contract the virus and yet many of them even insist that they don’t have it because they believe his “hoax” claims.  The result of his reckless leadership has been a mounting COVID death toll far surpassing that of any other country on the map.  He is guilty of more than negligent homicide for the pandemic deaths that might reach 400,000 by Inauguration Day:

He must by tried for criminally negligent homicide.

If not, the nation will be vulnerable to another dealer of death as president in the future.
