Overlooked Shocker: Trump Acting Defense Secretary Miller Testified Wednesday That Trump Wanted the National Guard to Protect the Insurrectionists, Not the Capitol and Members of Congress!

Wednesday marked an inflection point for Trump’s “Big Lie.” However, whether it is the beginning or the end of the gaslighting of America into a totalitarian dictatorship remains to play itself out.

Most notably, the corporate media and many progressive outlets failed to headline the shocking admission by former Trump Acting Defense Secretary Christopher Miller (assigned in the last few weeks of the Trump reign to facilitate the coup attempt). Miller stated matter-of-factly to a Congressional committee that Trump was aware of the need for the National Guard, but that Trump was only interested in having the Guard protect the “Constitutional rights” of the protesters (insurrectionists).

According to Miller, Trump said "do whatever was necessary to protect the demonstrators that were executing their constitutionally protected rights." That’s right, Trump wasn’t interested in protecting elected officials in the Capitol, just his cult followers.

Furthermore, Trump initiated the discussion with Miller on January 3 about the National Guard deployment, according to Miller.

This acknowledgement has egregious implications in regards to proving Trump’s January 6 complicity and treason.

Wednesday was also infamously memorable for Congresswoman Lynn Cheney (R-MT) being removed from her GOP leadership position for telling the truth, while Matt Gaetz, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Lauren Boebart and Paul Gosar, among others, spread lies like grass seed with House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy’s (R-CA) blessing.

McCarthy also made his mark on Wednesday by sending out e-mail donation text requests after a “bipartisan” meeting with President Biden, McConnell and Pelosi that read, "It's Kevin McCarthy. I just met with Corrupt Joe Biden and he's STILL planning to push his radical Socialist agenda onto the American people."

That ranks with Trump’s usual hideous turn of the phrase in which he “celebrated” Cheney getting the boot for her honesty by stating, “Liz Cheney is a bitter, horrible human being. I watched her yesterday and realized how bad she is for the Republican Party.” Trump may be getting far ahead of himself in believing he can sustain the erosion of democracy through mass delusion.

Meanwhile, “Republicans at a House Oversight and Reform Committee hearing about the attack Wednesday downplayed Trump’s involvement, with some defending the rioters”:

Republican after Republican on Wednesday repeatedly sought to downplay the violence of the Jan. 6 insurrection, with one Georgia lawmaker likening the mobs overwhelming Capitol Police and vandalizing Capitol offices to a “normal tourist visit.”

Rep. Andrew Clyde (R-Ga.) made the tourist comment, saying that calling what happened at the Capitol on Jan. 6 an insurrection “is a boldfaced lie.”

“Watching the TV footage of those who entered the Capitol and walked through Statuary Hall showed people in an orderly fashion staying between the stanchions and ropes taking videos and pictures,” the first-term lawmaker said. “You know, if you didn’t know the TV footage was a video from Jan. 6, you’d think it was a normal tourist visit.”

Yes, an assault by insurrectionists assembled, primed and ignited by Trump, threatening executions, battling police, vandalizing the citadel of democracy, “was a normal tourist visit.” Have all the Congressional Republicans had frontal lobotomies?

According to The Hill, “Rep. Paul Gosar (R-Ariz.) (whose birth family has disowned him as a danger to the nation) said Ashli Babbitt, a rioter shot and killed by a Capitol Police officer as she tried to jump through a window smashed by the mob right outside the House chamber was a ‘veteran wrapped in an American flag’ who was ‘executed.’” Oh really, now.

It was a red letter day as far as Trumpians assaulting democracy with a heaping pile of mendacity.

However, Miller’s revelation that Trump proactively raised the issue of the National Guard’s role being to protect Trump’s cult seditionists deserves a heaping spoon of outrage and headline coverage on the national news.
