Fox News Legal Analyst Napolitano Stuns Fox & Friends by Destroying Impeachment Talking Points

The Democratic Party’s use of the Republican-abused tools of closed-door hearings has driven the Grand Old Party mad. On Wednesday, a few dozen ornery old white guys in boring suits threatened our national security and put on a political stunt to hold up the impeachment inquiry proceedings. The brouhaha ended up being reported across all media platforms and, for the most part, conservatives involved were justifiably chastised. On Thursday, Fox & Friends had on Fox News legal analyst Andrew Napolitano to give some … legal analysis, I guess? Unfortunately, while Fox News’ pundits have brains made out of the asphyxiated dreams of greedy newscasters, some facts are hard to get around.
ANDREW NAPOLITANO: I’ll tell you what I did for you, [Fox & Friends host Brian] Kilmeade, I read the House rules. And as frustrating as it might be to have these hearings going on behind closed doors, the hearings over which Congressman Schiff is presiding, they are consistent with the rules.
Now, Brian Kilmeade is a man who does not like hearing that his feelings do not match up with logic, and he responded, “They can make up any rules they want.” Which...isn’t exactly what’s happening now, Brian.
NAPOLITANO: Well, they can’t change the rules, they follow the rules. And when were the rules written last? In January of 2015. And who signed them? John Boehner. And who enacted them? A Republican majority.
Napolitano goes on to explain that, while we all want to see these things, this “level of examination” is allowed to be carried out behind closed doors.
Kilmeade got very quiet after that.
