Lindsey Graham (R-SC) makes the word “hypocrite” seems like a euphemism. Not only did he choke up as he effusively praised Joe Biden in 2015 (watch video clip above), he dared everyone to use his words against him if he ever supported a Supreme Court nominee in the last year of a president’s term.
Below is a rollicking “Late Show” take-down, including Graham’s actual Senate statement that he would never support a Supreme Court nominee in Trump’s last year (this was said, in 2016, to justify Graham supporting McConnell’s ruthless and abominable refusal to advance Merrick Garland’s nomination in the last year of the Obama administration).
Finally, Graham, for a short-time, ran for president in the 2016 race. After an early withdrawal, he then supported Ted Cruz. At that time, he scathingly attacked Donald Trump in a recorded blistering obliteration of our Conman-in-Chief. In November of 2015, he blasted Trump as a “race-baiting, xenophobic religious bigot.” That’s for starters. Graham also accuses Trump of betraying the military, putting people at risk, and “undercutting everything we stand for.”
