What Republican governors Ron DeSantis and Greg Abbott are doing in response to the Covid crisis is frequently referred to as a “political strategy,” but I have a more appropriate word to describe their actions: murder.

They know the deadly threat of the virus, and they have to be well-aware that vaccinations and masking are effective ways to defend against getting sick.

As the titular leaders of their respective states, they have the sworn responsibility to take actions that will protect their citizens.

However, by taking the pro- Covid actions that they have, which are placing their citizens in harm’s way, they not only violate their charge, but also commit a crime: intentional homicide.

The best way to save the lives of the people in these states is for the Department of Justice to bring charges, if this is legally feasible.  This will no doubt result in the governors being removed from their governorships, the vaccinated cohort of their citizens would likely appreciate.
